At 750 miles, New York State's Empire State Trail is the longest multi-use trail in the country. There are three sections to the trail, and We are going to explore 65 miles of the Hudson River section. Our ride takes us on three Rail Trail Hall of Fame Trails: The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, the Hudson Valley Rail Trail, and the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail. We finish our ride on the Maybrook Trail.
We will explore historical cement mining facilities, tour historic Huguenot Street, cross the longest pedestrian bridge in the world -- the Walkway over the Hudson, and visit the Hopewell Depot Train Station.

Maybrook is great, two very nice lakes, three great swamps, not many pedestrians, very few surface street crossings, several boardwalks, and some great estates back up to the trail. Also, it come very close to the Putnam Line, which runs all the way down to NYC. There is not much industrialized areas, and in the summer, you have to look through the vegetation to see points of interests, but after a good rain, the streams and culverts are singing and you can see how they carve through the hillsides, naturally, as well as with sculpted manmade gullies.

Hi. I hope you get the chance to get out and at least get on the Walkway Over the Hudson. It's a pretty awesome bridge. "See" you on our next adventure. Happy New Year as well!

Thank you for sharing; your filming and editing are excellent 😊😊Got to go on that pedestrian bridge! 😁 (That is a nice trail, it doesn't look to difficult, were there any steep parts?) (My tax dollars well spent 😁 That trail is so smooth that even a person in a motorized wheelchair could go on it -- Allowed?)

This was a very easy trail ride. I don’t remember any steep parts other than on the Hudson Valley Trail section you had to go up a short hill coming out of an underpass. I’m not sure if a motorized wheelchair is allowed, but I don’t see why not?

Hi great video- I am in the process of researching Ebikes. I noticed that you guys covered up your batteries LOL. Many people are still confused about the laws on the Hudson Valley trail pertaining to Ebikes. My question is, Did you have any problems riding your bikes on this trailing and are they prohibited ?
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes 4 күн бұрын
Thanks for supporting our channel. We didn't cover up our batteries for any nefarious reason, it was much more practical than that -- the bars of our bike carrier rub up against the bike at the battery and we put those on to protect the bike from getting scratched. We didn't have any problems riding our bikes on the trail. But we are always considerate of walkers and other bikers and don't ride fast.

Hi, We have Gazelle Ultimate C8's. We bought them for a little more of a comfort ride and a longer battery range (up to 90 miles). I hope you get the opportunity to get out and ride this trail.

This route is rail trail, so there is generally never more than a 2% grade. It’s a pretty easy ride - but 65 miles is a long trip!! Thanks for watching.

I didn't think ebikes are allowed on the rail trail.
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes 9 ай бұрын
Hi. That is true and untrue. From my research, it appears that Class 3 ebikes are not allowed on trails. The rules on this trail are continually evolving and Class 1 ebikes are allowed on the majority of the trail. I recommend that Riders check the Empire State Trail web page for more information before they ride. Thanks for watching.

Looks like a great trail. Do you guys have a camper or do you stay in hotels and or Airbnbs for your rides? Where did you guys stay to access this trail? Thanks.

Hi. Up to this point we have stayed in hotels and a couple of B&B's. We stayed in a Marriott property in Poughkeepsie for this trip. This was actually a 2 day trip. We rode the Wallkill the first day, and the other three on the second day. Thanks for watching!

Wow, 65 miles on an e-bike. What power assist were you most frequently using? What size battery does your bike have? How long did this ride take (including rest breaks)?
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes Жыл бұрын
Hi, We actually took 2 days to ride the 5 trails that make up this trip. Our ebikes can go 90 miles on a charge. We typically ride about 12 mph, and there weren't any real hills so we usually ride in the lowest assist level (too hard to ride with zero assist as the bikes are 60 lbs.) If you check out our video of 3 days on the GAP -- we averaged 60 miles a day and had plenty of time to see things, eat, etc. Thanks for watching.

We parked on the Poughkeepsie side of the bridge. -- 49 Parker Ave. There is pretty good parking there, but it fills up fast.

So glad to hear we can be an inspiration to get out and bike! Sorry I couldn't respond sooner -- just got back from a 40 day cross-country trip riding all new trails. I have a subscription to Epidemic Sound. The music track is: Won't you wait for me (Instrumental Version) by Go For Howell.
