Biking Pennsylvania: Schuylkill River Trail - Valley Forge

This adventure started about 20 miles outside Philadelphia at the Betzwood trail head - part of the 3,500 acre Valley Forge National Historical Park. We rode west toward Parker Ford. Then we rode our bikes through Valley Forge National Historical Park -- the site of General George Washington's 6 month encampment with the Continental Army in the winter of 1777-1778 -- to view the historic structures. This ride took place June 27, 2021.

I feel like I repeat myself a lot in saying things like 'amazing' and 'holy cow'!!! Looks like one could spend days there with all of the history available. Thank you very much for a wonderful video, great background music, and per usual, amazing narration.

That's so cool!! We have been on the Perkiomen and that video is posted as well. We didn't make it down to where it connected with the Schuylkill :( Thanks for watching. We hope to "see" you again on another adventure soon.

... when you go further west on the SRT to Mt Claire just past the "Dog Park" ... when the canal is on your left, look for "Fitzwater Station" the best food on the SRT ( the battered dipped Deep Fried pickle chips ... Yum Yum !!!!) Little known fact: it was the Spring Shad Run on the Schulkill river, that saved the starving Army ...

Hi. We parked in Betzwood Park, just off 422. Depending on when you go, you probably want to get there a little early as it was pretty full when we came back from our ride. Thanks for watching.
