Any suggestions for solo thru-riders on how to get beck to the car/starting point once we're done? Do you think hitching would be feasible? (in early May)
@THESUFFERCLUB2 жыл бұрын
Hitching would be tough but not impossible. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a fairly friendly Parkway but traveling back 470 miles may take you a while. We had a friend drop us off and Family pick us up.

There are shuttle drivers all along the AT that, for a fee, will shuttle hikers to and from the trail and other destinations. They often drive trucks and may well be willing to haul you back (but that distance won’t be cheap). Depending on exact start/stop locations, Greyhound bus might work.

what time of the year did yall do this? How hard would it be to stealth/wild camp the entire thing?
@THESUFFERCLUB3 жыл бұрын
We did it in May. I think it would be very easy to stealth camp it. We honestly slept in peoples yards and gazebos.

Your elevation shows as 8,684’ while the highest point east of the MS river is 6,684’. Think you’ve got a typo.

Thank so much for catching that. I’ll look into.

I want to ride it with an electric bike. Need to be able to charge up at least every 50 miles or so. Anyone have any input? I want to get a second battery of course and a solar charge mechanism to charge one while I am using the other. Anyone have any ideas? I will charge up every so often when I can in civilization or at campgrounds.
@TheTrakker4 жыл бұрын
Forgive me for piping in on this. I know little about the e-bikes. But is there a mechanical charging system that you could power as you pedal? It may be an option.

Congrats on an epic ride. Loved the video visuals but it would have been so much better without the distracting music blaring

It honestly wasn't bad. When the leaves change in the fall, that would probably not be a good time to ride from one side to the other.
