I remember throwing the football around with my friends in the backyard when I was 13 years old. My friends dad came out and said looks like the patriots are going with a guy named Brady and not Bledsoe. So many great years and memories. Thank you Bill.

This is a tough one for most of Patriot Nation. As a life long Pats fan, this one stings. Bill and Brady not being there just reminds me that father time waits for no man. Things change and we get older even though we may not want that to be the case. Bill will always be remembered fondly and a Patriot legend. This one hits hard. I am thankful i got to witness the greatest football era of all time.!!!!

This is the most emotional week in the NFL history. The two giants of the football coaches are moving on. Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll are legendary football head coaches.

it is bittersweet seeing the end of such a legendary era. i have never been a pats fan but i am compelled to respect and admire what bill achieved in that organization. he is 100% a first ballot hall of famer. i wish him continued success. it will be very interesting seeing him on the sidelines coaching another team. i think the chargers have the talent at QB that could attract him to go there. if he goes to the chargers i will even root for him on occasion. Godspeed to bill and all the Patriots fans during the ending of the most legendary eras in pro football history. im excited to see what the future holds.

I’m old and admired this man way before he was the Patriots HC. This man is not only the greatest HC all-time, he’s the greatest DC, EVER. His NY Giants defenses made Joe Montana look like a big eyed backup QB in many playoff games. Nothing lasts forever, but the history books prove who the best is. You’re not going to see a genius like Bill Belichick ever again. I’m sure Bill will go to another organization who has a capable QB for another 5-7 years and still dominate.

It will be difficult to watch a Patriots game without him on the sidelines. While always a Patriot fan, I will cheer on his new team (unless it's the Cowboys) knowing that he will make them better both as a team and individual players. I will be very difficult and odd-feeling to watch New England play and not see Coach Belichick on the sidelines. He has earned the respect of all NFL fans, players and teams.

I was sitting in a bar in Savanna GA during the tuck rule game. Hated the Pat's, 9ers fan, but no more hate. Appreciate the run. Amendola said, "we work for Bill, we play for Brady". I remember him ad DC against my 9ers in the late 80's, basically got Montana hurt and traded. Shut down Buffalo by letting Thomas run But shutting down the pass was genius. GOAT

Coach Belichick became Patriots head coach on the recommendation of another great coach, and mentor, Bill Parcells. Those who belittle him or minimize his accomplishments is a friggin fool. I will miss Coach Belichick not being on the sidelines in the NFL. GOAT!!!

24 years he was Coach of Patriots. That's the same number of years I finished with in the California public school teacher pension system. Belichick and Brady helped me get through those years.

I'm totally disappointed in Kraft. You don't part ways with a HC that head coached your team to 9 World Championships, winning 6. The most by any HC in the merger era. Only second to the great Paul Brown (Cleveland Browns) 10 World Championships "In a Row", winning 7. Coach Belichick deserved to ride off into the sunset on his terms. I thank Coach Belichick for the awesome ride, and I wish him well. Go Patriots! The true America's team!

The Chargers probably have the best roster, but Washington can make a great case with its proximity to Annapolis. To get Belichick though, they'll almost certainly have to give up personnel control.
