Bill dug his own grave when he hired defensive guys to run the offense last year and didn't upgrade the roster on that side of the ball. As a Patriot fan I will never forget what he did for this franchise but sometimes a clean break is the best thing for everyone involved.

They do that in the league all the time. The chargers former HC Brandon Staley is a former QB and all of a sudden he is a defensive specialist? Circle back to The Pats, you really believe Matt Patricia ever deserved a HC job? He was listed as the defensive coordinator ON BILL BELICHICKS STAFF. Do you for a second believe Matt Patricia called a single play on defense when Bill Belichick really is a defensive guru? So, again, teams do that all the time, bring guys in because of personal relationships, they fill in the staff voids. Have nothing to do with the xs and os

What Belichick did was IMPOSSIBLE with the roster turnover and offenses out there. BILL....NOT BRADY ,shut down some of best offenses in league history. Montana. A mystery team according to Colin Cowherd: Philadelphia. If they lose on Monday Night, Philly would consider moving on from Siranni. Philly's weakness is the secondary, where that's a Belichick strength. They have the pieces in place already. The same holds true in Tampa Bay. If they lost on Monday, the Glazers might consider moving on from Bowles and possibly consider getting Belichick.

If Bill the Coach was hobbled by Bill the GM, and presumably not keen on giving up control and just coaching (I'm not sure I buy the whole "just hire a GM he trusts" thing...seems like that's bringing in Pioli or Dimitroff so Belichick can tell them which decisions to make), what's the appeal except for a team that doesn't consider itself Super Bowl worthy right now? If you think you're a few key pieces and a couple of years away from being contenders, is Belichick the guy you trust to find those pieces AND stick around long enough to develop them?

I’ve never been a fan of one guy being both GM and HC.. in the NFL, each of those jobs require 60+ hrs per week. There’s just no way one guy can successfully do both jobs.. I think having Brady, covered up many of the mistakes Bill made.. plus, we’ll never know about the “what could have beens” that Bill missed because he was too busy developing game plan.. back in the 80’s, I worked in the front office for the Niners (just a dude in the trenches), the GM and staff were always working the phones, talking g with the other GMs.. it was literally non stop… they knew everything about every team….

I’m 72 so I’ve been watching Boston sports for a few years. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when the Bruins could not come to some agreement with Bobby Orr, the greatest defensive player of that era and arguably of all time and let him go to play with the Chicago Blackhawks. There are others in between but these are the one that stand out. And than the Patriots could not come to some agreement to keep him in New England, after all he did for the Patriots Craft should have literally given him whatever he wanted and now we have this and again they can not come to some agreement to keep Belichick in New England because like Brady he should have been offered anything he wanted, he should have retired from New England because it will be more than strange to see him on the sideline coaching another team, it will be heartbreaking.

What more could he have been offered? He had complete control of the team and a massive contract. What did he do with that complete control? This is an impressive level of stupidity, truly. The Pats defenses by DVOA since 2021: 6th, 5th, 9th. They did suck during the reset year in 2020 after Brady left, that's it. In points allowed they have ranked 7th, 2nd, 11th, and 15th(they were 1st in Brady's final year). They literally beat a Josh Allen lead team while completing 1 pass. This is all while being top 6 in cap space on IR in 3 of the last 4 seasons by the way. They had the most cap on IR this year with the 9th ranked defense but yes, he clearly has lost it lmao. Best coach ever, however no one ever does their best work in their 70s. He needs to try to enjoy retirement.

You heard it here first: If Dan Quinn gets hired away during the playoffs and the Cowboys end up underperforming, Bill Belichick will be the next coach of AMERICA'S TEAM. He and Jerry are very close and he has ALWAYS singled the Cowboys out as an organization he highly respects.

Tom Brady Took Belichick on a 20+ Year Historic Ride...Left New England and Took Bucs For a Magic Carpet Ride...Tom Brady IMMEDIATELY Won a Title in His FIRST Year as QB With These Teams and Made The Playoffs EVERY Single Year of His Career...What Have These Coaches Accomplished Without Tom Brady?....ZILCH!...NOTHING!....NADA!

Sorry, but Sean McVay is way more impressive with his on the spot recall of plays in games he has coached in than Bill Belichick. McVay you can give a year, an opponent, week number, down and distance and time left in the game and he'll tell you what play he ran and the results of the play.

Hey Rich. What was Belichicks record before Brady and after Brady? He was fired in Cleveland. He was going to be fired by Kraft in New England before Brady fell into his lap and saved his job. He ran Brady out of town 4 years ago thinking he could bring in any QB and keep on winning and it blew up in his face while Tom went and won a SB in Tampa. Hell even Danny Amendola said that players didnt come to New England to play for Bill they came to play for Tom Brady!!!

Cleveland was a consensus SB contender Belichick's last year before the franchise got hijacked and the move to Baltimore announced, then the Cleveland fanbase turned against the team. The year before that Belichick beat Parcells in the playoffs. Before that, Belichick won two rings with some of the greatest defenses of all time. You don't know a damn thing, you nobody. He took a college backup and made him into the GOAT.

Loser before Brady. Loser after Brady. Brady won without Belichick. Belichick hasn't won jack without Brady. No amount of bluster and apologetics changes that.

Belichick just might be a little too old school in a sense, him being the coach AND GM there sunk that team, he's too stubborn and smug for his own good now that he doesn't have the greatest QB to ever play on his team.... I feel like he clashes with most players in today's league and society....

That’s because players (and people in general) don’t want discipline, something the greatest coaches instilled in their players. Look at some of these teams that get boneheaded pentalties one after another, or screw up the position assignments, that’s lack of discipline. Players don’t want disciplined teams? Fine. Don’t expect to win football games.

Troy Aikman retired early because they didn’t have a coach that instilled dcipline in the team. I’ve managed people before, it’s like herding cats. Getting a group of people to do what they are supposed to, when they are supposed to, is very difficult, and things aren’t getting any better. You said it yourself, it’s society. People want instant gratification and don’t want to put the work in, that’s required, to have the greatest success. That requires discipline and many lack it.

Afew coaches change the game for all that come after them. Landry, Ryan, and this week Carrol and Belichick. Great palyer don't get to be great players without coaches building a great supporting staff. You can say what you like about Brady being GOAT but without Belichick building a decent D and players on O he's just another qb. I think like Carrol they changes everything so much that when the game cough up with them they were to set in their ways to understand the changes needed. Even if he moves on I doubt he will be more thn moderately successful
