2:17 Probably why they are so good " I can actually learn to play the guitar" . a Grammy nominated 45 year old man say this !

I know Brent Hinds takes a lot of the lead solos but I can tell that Bill is responsible for a lot of the writing.

Holy shit that riff was incredible. I seriously hope that riff can make it onto the next album. I think it'd be a really cool sound to move into for the band. I've really loved the direction they've been going over time! Remission still rocks, and everything in between until now, too. But the variation of their music through time has really kept me listening and loving the band for years!

+poohenya to be honest when I had heard that there was going to be a new mastodon album, I was predicting that it would not come out un-til September-December 2017; although I do hope that I am wrong.

He was using a Marshall for an amp. Unsure of the model but it had no gain setting and four inputs. He was also using a tube screamer to get his crunch tone.

The same question will plague metal band forever. Some bands change or evolve, and a few continue playing the same thing over and over. Why is it so difficult to understand.

"People want their favorite band to stay the same forever" Not true, we just want the same sound from one project or band. If you change the sound thats fine but you should have to change the bands name. Its trying to ride under your brand while not offering what that brand used to offer. Change all you want but at a certain point you arent "mastodon" anymore, you become "troy, bill, brent and branns music project"
