Wallace great fighter, only problem is that he is a gifted kicker, i don't think most people can kick like him. big fan since the eighty's

oldcutler100 how is being a gifted kicker a problem? Or did I misread that? I have to give Wallace credit, while he dominated in the 80's in the ring with his kicks, if you remember his last fight before retirement, he trained extensively at a boxing camp and focused most of that entire fight with Wally Slocki with his hands. It turned out to be a great fight and if I remember correctly, it either wound up in a draw or wallace won. Dang thats what getting old does to you.

MerdcuneoVGC that is what impressed me not only about Wallace but the other division world champions at the time, Joe Lewis, Jeff Smith, Benny Urquidez. I watched many of their fights and in the early days of the PKA, the majority of their opponents were burned out after two rounds. What seemed to make them last so long as title holders was their early realization that endurance was a huge part of the game. It didn't take too long before many others started to realize it and changed their training methods. But when you double that endurance with the pure ability they had, it made them pretty much unstoppable.

I met Bill Wallace at one of his exhibitions. He was the a narcissistic bully who intimidated and talked down to most people there. We left after 20 minutes.

Very predictable, kept doing same thing over & over & over again in his fights. Kicks off the lead leg & hook kicks perpetual. Kyokushin Fighters would have demolished him.

The man retired unbeaten at 35 plus he tore his knee doing judo b4 he took up kicking boxing. If the ufc had been around 45 years ago I say superfoot and Joe Lewis would have been world champions in that sport also .

They wouldn't have been able to get near him, if they did he was also a great boxer. Kyokushin is overrated. They don't even punch to the head. Wallace does because he fought full contact all over the body. That matters. You need the experience where your head can be punched otherwise you'll never have the awareness, reactions, reflexes etc. to protect it.

He wasn't called "Superfoot" for nothing. "Wallace was known for his fast left leg kicks, especially his roundhouse kick and his hook kick, which was clocked at about 60 mph. He focused on his left leg because of a Judo-related injury to his right knee, using the right leg primarily as a base." Plus, many people can't defend against back fists and hooks. No one in Kyokushin kicks as fast as Wallace

@@williamwest7008kyokushin is not overrated. Not at all. It is a proven effective form of karate. Well proven. Getting punched in the chest is painful and dangerous. A good solid punch near the heart can put someone in the hospital. It has been known to happen. Leg kicks are brutal and a person can't take too many of them. Plus, see how well you walk for the next couple of weeks after taking numerous leg kicks. If you take kicks to both legs then good luck walking normally. I remember when I first started training Muay Thai. I sparred the first week and took kicks to my right leg. I walked with a painful limp for over two weeks. The pain subsided quite a bit by the end of the secobd week. A lot of damage can be done to the leg muscles by kicks.
