by any chance do you have the manual for this machine? i just bought one from the thrift store and i don't know how to use it. I'm really interested in using it. Also could you make a video on how to thread the bobbin? thanks!

Unfortunately I no longer have the manual. And I just sold the unit. However I will make a video on threading a bobbin using a singer. I will post the video in about two weeks

I noticed that the thread line holder at the top is broken on this one also. I just bought one and fortunately I found the broken part. Now to find a replacement. Thanks for the video!

I was having a hard time figuring out the manual which had really bad pictures. This is kind of backwards from my other machines. This threads kind of left to right. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the video. Pls ours just developed a problem now . The needle holder is not moving up and down very well when the pedal is stepped on. It reels perfectly but the needle isn't moving up and down. Just about some mm movement

Unfortunately I no longer have this machine so I won’t be able to guide you through step by step. However my guess is that the belt may be slipping. If you can remove the outer shell and see if the belt moves when the pedal presses then you will know for sure. If this is the scenario then you will have to buy a new belt. If you can confirm that the belt is intact moving then put some oil on al the moving parts while you have the shell off. It could be as simple as the moving parts have dried up and need to be lubricated. Let me know if this works. And please like and subscribe

Do you know where I can get a repair manual for the Festival 471? Also, do you know if it has a single needle plate and wht the part # is? What is the drop of the needle measurement into the case? And finally, do you know how to get the foot arm to be just a bit higher so it does not sit on the fabric so tight.

Any Walmart, lens mill store, michaels, or other craft store near you will carry them. Sometimes you may find them at the dollar store. Enjoy the machine. Happy sewing. Please like and subscribe

If you see where the pattern window is to the left of the name “brother festival 461” look above it on top of the machine. There is a silver dial. Twist it and you will see the little red line moving in the window. Line that up with the pattern you want to see with.

I honestly can’t remember. I got rid of that machine long ago. And I’ve had so many machines since then. All I can remember is that the first knob under the brother festival name is for your tension. The bottom one is for reverse I think. As for the other two silver ones, I can’t remember sorry.

I can’t remember as I’ve had so many machines and I no longer have this one. But I think it’s the dial on the bottom right of the machine. Can’t remember for certain though.
