Anyone else feel like having Wembanyama anywhere below 2 is insane? There’s not chance every team doesn’t trade their star player for him except the Nuggets because Jokic should age so well and he may be the only guy better than Wembanyana in his peak in the league right now. Giannis is going to age terribly. Most of the top of the league is too old or injury prone to be over Wembanyama and Luka can’t give you the defense of Wemby. Only Denver says no. And you have Wemby locked up for 8 years. Everyone else you have for four years or less unlesss you’re talking Paolo

Like I could only seem him winning a championship with Bam or JJJ as his teammates. Having a center that can’t protect the rim or guard on the perimeter makes it virtually impossible to win today. I personally wouldn’t even give up a first rounder for him if I didn’t have one of those guys next to him.

And Shai is clutch player of the year without being top 20 in any major stat in the 4th quarter, not even steals. Sidenote, it's either Giannis or Lebron: LeBron is first in points, 5th in assist, 3rd in rebounds, 7th in blocks (!), 15th in steals and third in +/-. Also, the Lakers are the best clutch team in the league. Giannis is second in points, first in rebounds, third in blocks, 4th in steals, 5th in +/- and assists, on a team that I usually very good in the clutch. You can make a case for a couple of other guys, but I think nobody's really close.

Ant is a bad man, and he's looking very good this season. But he's nowhere close to Tatum. JT's worst season, at age 20, he had 5.0 WS (win shares) and 15.1 PER (player efficiency rating). Ant's recorded 4.3 WS last season with 17.4 PER. Tatum recorded 10.5 WS with 23.7 PER. Ant this season has 4.3 WS on 19.0 PER, and on pace to record 7.8 WS for the season. Tatum has 6.3 WS on 21.9 PER, and on pace to record 11.0 WS. Tatum's career average is 19.9 PER and 7.6 WS per season. Antman's "break-out" year is comparable to Tatum's career average. Also, Tatum's been to the Finals as the best player on the team. Antman is doing great so far, but we really need to see him beyond the first round exit to see who he truly is. He'll get plenty of chances, but as of now, 30 out of 30 NBA teams will take Tatum over Ant.

Scottie took a crazy leap from last year and got better in every category and he’s STILL so raw. Scottie in 6 years I genuinely believe can be a top 12 player in the league because he legit has no weakness. He can facilitate, rebound, shoot, play D, and be a leader. Mobley has ALOT more to prove. He’s been the clearnumber 1 option for 2 weeks bill, give him 1-2 more years and you’ll see he’s gonna be a baby Giannis that can shoot. @xRawPower
@xRawPower 4 ай бұрын
@@anthon8ydan8iel I will admit I'm biased, but from my perspective that was already a factor in my consideration, and significantly strengthens my position. Barnes is literally an All Star on a rookie scale contract, and he did it with a playstyle that could plug-and-play on any team and immediately be a positive. High energy on both sides of the ball, takes pride in his defensive utility, operates in a team offense without being a ballstopper. I'm not one of these deluded Raptors fans who thinks Scottie is going to wake up one day and have KD level scoring ability, he is never going to be that polished offensively - he doesn't need to be. He has shown the potential to be a much more athletically gifted Draymond Green style piece - a guy who does not need to be your 1a offensive option to justify giving him a max contract. He brings value in a variety of categories, it doesn't matter if his shot isn't falling on any given night, he will still do enough auxiliary things to be a positive piece. Trae on the other hand... he is making 10m more next year than Scottie will have made in his entire 4y rookie contract. He is the 12th highest paid player in the league. He is famously terrible on defense, seemingly does not care to try. Offensively, his playstyle is a hindrance to any team philosophy as he is hugely reliant on iso/pnr on the perimeter. 46% of his shots this year were 3's, a vast majority of those being off the dribble. He just does not bring the things to the table that lead to your team having success or a winning culture, it really is that simple. He is flashy, he can score, he's got an attitude, he stands up for himself - there are a lot of things to like about him... but when you consider that price tag, the fact he has been the 1a guy in Atlanta since the 19-20 season, the lack of team success... it's tough to wrap my head around anyone justifying putting Trae above Scottie on a list like this.

I still need someone to explain why everyone is so eager to have SA blow assets for someone right now? Unless he takes an unprecedented leap next year, it spits in the face of history and everything these guys always talk about. Let's say they get Trae, what do they become? Who do they legit beat over the next 2 - 3 years with the support they have? Then Trae becomes late twenties small small guard (the tape is bad on that). SA isn't FA spot; they've likely given up draft capital to get someone like Trae and the picks they keep are now in the 20s and are thus crapshoots.

he is unprecedented that is already clear. Seems very likely he will be at least 2years ahead of other superstars in history. You sure can be outsider in 3 years, maybe even 2. But probably not the way to maximilize titles in long term

Got to give credit to Bill who called out Lebron here . No one on ESPN has the balls to call him out . He’s a proper narcissist & always has to make it about himself . The guys ego is as big as his talent & always needs to be massaged . He’s an amazing player no doubt but if I was a player in the NBA I would hate to play on his team .

Yes, exactly, that's why his former teammates generally hate him, right? Wade, Bosh, Ray Allen, Battier, Haslem from Miami, they all hate him right? Wait, maybe in Cleveland... Jr Smith, Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love, even Kyrie apologised and said he was wrong. And then let's go the to Lakers, how many professional grown ups disliked playing with him? Rondo? McGee? Howard? Danny Green? Caruso? KCP? Oh wait, none of them never said shit against LeBron. Even the retired ones. A few young guys felt bad because LeBron had them shipped away for Anthony fucking Davis. What a shocker. Everyone in Boston would have traded Jaylen Brown for AD in an instant if AD didn't sent a massive middle finger to Danny Ainge.

Proof that you should be patient in the NBA: Clippers: Kawhi could have been paired with SGA. Lakers: Could have waited for Davis to come via Free Agency and kept half of the players they gave up and would probably have 2 titles instead of 1.

Kawhi fouled out twice in the 2014 finals and in the first two games only scored 9 points. TIm Duncan still was by far the best player on the team in 2014 and should have won FMVP.

That team would scare me. If Jokic plays like he did last playoffs, I still like Denver's chances....but MPJ is so up and down and Gordon has been off this year. It would be a nail biter.

@canadadry4609 that's not my case Spurs before and during Kahwi have maybe the highest dynasty win percent. The issue is the load management there's a reason why an MVP and other accolades have to play a certain amount of games because you can have 100 percent wins if a good player cherry picks when they play. If you want to use a percent you use the team winning percentage not when he plays which is a pointless comparison if the other players don't pick when they play like Kahwi if you're not playing 90 percent of your games it's a pointless stat it just tells you he's the most rested and he picks his opponents

I absolutely LOVE the Trade Value/Power Rankings but there's one pretty big omission on this list and as a Net fan who has had to stomach him being disrespected by his coach on the regular...Cam Thomas needs his due. Cam Thomas is at worst a Group E guy and with a good coach that's not Jacque Vaughn, low end Group D, possibly Group C. - He's the second leading scorer on the Nets and this is mostly because JV keeps yo-yoing his minutes. It's by the grace of God or your holy deity of choice that Cam hasn't demanded a trade. - He scored 40 in 3 straight games. If it were this easy, everyone would be doing it. - Everyone around the league is noticing the potential he has and they're voicing it while questioning what the hell Vaughn is doing. When it hits the level where other announcers are in on it, you really got something. I can't recall too many who have gotten this much with so few games started. The Nets since they were fleeced for Doc J have only had what I'd call two serious franchise pieces excluding He Who Ran Away (Durant). Petro died before he realized his potential. Kidd lifted the franchise to two conference titles but refused to stay out of his own way to finish before he became that 'old guy on a title winning team'. Cam Thomas is someone who I firmly believe if the Nets came to at the end of the season and fired JV and got Kenny Atkinson back...is an All Star next season. In another two seasons, he's All NBA. I've heard folks call for Sean Marks' head and nah, he's not the problem. When you have a GM who can work the back end of the draft as well as he can, you keep him. Hiring Nash and Vaughn have been errors, but we've seen what this can look like when he has the right coach (Atkinson). Cam has 'All Time Net' potential, but it's not getting realized with JV at the controls. Basically, Cam is everything they're waiting on Mikal to become and I'm not entirely sure he's going to hit it the way Cam has now.

Wemby should be no lower than third. Jokic is too good and important to the Nuggets, and I get Luka - he’s transcendent, only 24, and the Mavs are heavily invested in him. But Wemby should be higher than Giannis. Assuming their primes last until age 36 or so, does 7 years of Giannis or 16 years of Wemby give you a better shot at more titles? If the Spurs offered Wemby straight up for Giannis, would the Bucks say no? They’d have to think about it.
