In the comics, butcher kills everyone in his own crew, but hughie, who he manipulates into killing him after he killed homelanders clone after that clone killed homelander after homelamder killed the president. The clone was tore up from the floor up from the fight & is the one that actually raped his wife & did most of the terrible shit homelander was accused of like eating a baby cause when your one purpose for being made is kill this guy if he goes dark side you want that guy to go dark side. It's probably that he's a clone that made his powers hereditary.

I’m glad they changed butchers character from the comic. This is such a better alternative for his character on the whole versus the comic where he’s just completely callous and ruthless about everything related to supes.

Feels more, as Butcher said, “realistic”. The Butcher in the comic, essentially becomes a Punisher hellbent on killing Homelander and all Supers. But in the show, when Death begins knocking on his door, he finally takes the advice his friends have been yelling at him at this point, and tries to do something right before he dies. If not to escape damnation, at least to help an innocent that doesn’t deserve Homelander’s abuse. Billy finally realized something’s gotta give. He, even Homelander, can’t keep doing this forever. They’ll eventually both end up in the dirt.

Truth is the boys NEED butcher. He’s the smartest and most experienced out of them all. He realised Annie was lying about her history with firecracker straight away. No one else did. He’s the only man that can take down homelander

I know right, I always hated how nobody saw things from Butcher's perspective: that's mans one reason for living was his wife, finding her, getting revenge for her, keeping his promise to her. Everyone acts like he was too obsessed with killing Homelander when the fact was it's ALL he had left, they didn't get that. Hughie and Annie have each other, Frenchie and Kimiko have each other and MM has his daughter, each of them have a reason to fight and live for but Butcher has NOTHING to keep him going but anger and hatred and still he sees Ryan as the son of the woman he loves and not the son of the man he hates. Even Wolverine isn't this broken 😢

Although they have deviated from the comics I doubt very much Butcher dies before Homelander does Mothers milk isn't really interested in Homelander, he's trained more on soldier boy who he knows is still not dead. Hughie has his hatred aimed at A-Train, not so much HL And Frenchie, well Frenchie is a huge hypocrite and a lapdog Kimiko just hates V And Starlight, well starlight does have a huge dislike for homelander and has justifications again the deep and a-train So I think either butcher dies and starlight somehow kills homelander, which I think is ludicrous unless she "amps up" again or Butcher does infact get the killing blow on homelander Still quite a bit to cover though so I'm gonna dote on it

I think that was a great choice, but what I would do if I wrote for the show is have Hughie and Annie raise Ryan. I wiuld have Hughie show his serious side by accepting the responsibility of carrying on Billy's legacy of policing the supes and Annie, I think, would be capable of being a great parent once she accepts the role.

Season 5 is confirmed, but how would they make it if Billy dies this season? I think the Compound V he took will maybe save his life, but I dunno. Show won’t be the same w/o Butcher. Hell, it barely feels the same rn. What w the romance between Frenchie and Kimiko being completely scrapped, Starlight and Hughie feeling more like a bro/sis relationship instead of an actual couple. And Simon Pegg’s character is in a fuckin’ stroke induced coma! This season is rocky as fuck!
