BILLY IDOL: STATELINE
One of the most recognisable faces and voices of rock'n'roll, with over 40 million album sales, and numerous platinum albums worldwide, the hell-raising rock star is joined on stage by his longtime band including his collaborator and lead guitarist of over 40 years, Steve Stevens, with special guest stars including The Kills' Alison Mosshart, former Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, and No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal.
A spectacular special event, immortalised for the big screen, 'Billy Idol: State Line' sees legendary punk icon, Billy Idol, making history by playing the first ever live concert in front of the world famous Hoover Dam. Performing two unique sets in front of only 250 fans: an electrifying full band concert at sunset with special guests that illuminated the surrounding Black Canyon of the Colorado River, and an acoustic duo set on the roof of the powerhouse directly at the foot of Hoover Dam on the Nevada/Arizona state line, the once in a lifetime performance features a career-spanning run of timeless hits including ‘Dancing with Myself’, ‘Eyes Without a Face’, ‘Rebel Yell’ and ‘White Wedding’.

i was waiting for a lough cheer when S.S. did the Van Halen part of the solo. I guess you have to be a guitar player to hear that part. S.S. is an amazing guitarist this performance was superb.

Billy Idol hit the scene when I was beginning high school and while I really enjoyed their music, all the clubs played it, I never really thought they were more than a studio band. Years later they had the VH1 special and I was blown away by Steve Stevens, and frankly, Billy Idol as well.

The crush I had on him! That smile still gets me. Walls plastered with his posters & albums. Made a sign for his concert...We were in the pit and he took it from me and held it up for everyone to see. He handed it back with a smile and wink. I grabbed the electrical tape from his mic or guitar cord. What a moment!😂 I kept both for a long time after. Now long gone..but so happy to have the memories! 🤗Thanks Billy Idol❤

Nice to see him start with advanced guitar synth and transition to clean accoustic sound. Over the years has been very innovative. Steve and Billy obviously have a long partnership and bring their world class skills to the stage. In the band I think they push each other to highs they cant get to alone.

I have a Godin A6 which is the same size/shape. It’s made to take electric strings but, with an acoustic and an electric pickup, do the job of 2 guitars. I just settled for acoustic bronze 11g strings and it’s the best electro acoustic gtr I’ve ever had, no feedback at all. I’m retired from gigging now but it’s been a reliable go-to guitar for me.

Saw Steve with Billy Idol in the early eighties, freaking blew me away! Saw him again in a small club in Edmonton with the atomic playboys, melted my brain! Steve can walk confidently among the all time greats of guitar players. Magnifico!!

Followed him since I was a kid until now. All of his career. I’m close to his age. He has lost none of his musical ear. Brilliant player. Run across desert sands was always one of my favourites of his. Spiral is another beautiful track.
