I was headed over here in love with a girl in 1992, but never said anything to express my feelings. In August of that year, I went to see her and told her that I loved her, but she was already engaged to someone else. She sent me an invitation to the wedding in Jan 1993, but instead of going, I sent a dozen roses with a card that read, "It Could've Been Me". Fast forward almost 20 yes when I saw her again and she said she sent the invitation hoping that I would show up. Had I gone, she would've left with me and never looked back By that time, the more appropriate song was "What Might've Been" by Little Texas...

It will be a day of great Terror is what the good Lord said. People are going to be full of fear! The good Lord said they will cry for the mountains to fall on them because they will be so terrified. None of us knows when this day will be. We must be prepared every single day. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord. All these idiots out here who claim they don't believe, will find out. They will bow before the King! You can bow willingly and live an amazing life with Him walking with you every single day, or you can wait until the day you are so terrified you cannot help but bow. One thing I can guarantee you, not one single person will have a single doubt in their mind on that day. They will wish they had done different, but it will be too late. It's an amazing life to walk with the King. It's a whole lot better than anything else, anyway. Everything else gets boring and old. Everything else will leave you empty on the inside. So I get the best of both worlds. I have an amazing life while I'm here and I'll have an amazing life in God's Kingdom. It's a win-win situation!

I remember who I used to be. I remember the drugs, alcohol, women, and all the other vices that the devil had me trapped in. I remember when I was set free. Oh the joy that floods my soul! I have so much fun every single day! This is as good as it gets, regardless of all the vices you see in front of you that the devil will tell you are good. You become enslaved and they take over your life. You have no peace and no satisfaction. You use drugs or alcohol or something else to try to mask it and it still never goes away. There are only two ways to walk in this world. You either walk with the King of all Kings, Lord of all Lords, or you walk with the god of this world. I just love life so much it's hard to stop speaking about it. This truth is so indwelled in my life now that is just flows out like a river. This side of the road is much more fun. Don't read it or do. One thing I can tell you, every bit of its true. If you ever experience it for yourself, you'll see why I cannot stop talking about it. It's called "being born again". Old things are passed away and All Things become new. I don't even try that live this life, it's just who I have become because I'm a new person. If you come across a person who says they are Christian and they don't have a love and joy that just flows out like a river, they aren't living the life. Some of them just don't know what they could have because they never seek it, but some of them are just willingly living opposite of what they believe and that's why they're never happy. Because if you are truly living it, that Joy will flow and flow. I'm so free! I'm free to be me. This is who I was created to be. I don't worry about what I say or what people think, I just live my life and watch the good Lord work.

Its 4 am on Christmas Day... Woke up to a dream about my dad who now has Alzheimers. Back when this song was released, my dad would play this on his cd player along with Achy Brachy Heart. I was 3-4 at the time. The thought of this song never crossed my mind until this morning, but somehow I woke up thinking about the tune and my dad. Im glad I found this song.

Emptyeauation 16 , sure it’s not Penny Lane or Bridge Over Troubled Water I do think in the tradition of existential Country lyrics I’d rate it with Mama Tried or Waylon Jennings Rainy Day Woman . Sometimes it’s not about complication, but about what to Leave out , what to omit to hasten the point .. This song provokes emotion and ranks very well on its own

I honestly give respect to the accordion player. I love this song. I’m a man’s man who spent his adult years in manual labor. This was the reason I didn’t want to waste time, and married my high school sweetheart. We celebrated our 23rd anniversary this past September. We have 4 children and a grandson and a grandchild on the way. Thank you Billie Ray.

I had this cassette tape when I was a kid. I replayed this song over & over after my cousin passed. I was 8 then & kinda made the song mean what I needed it to at that time. This song still takes me back & means what I need, when I need. All time favorite.

Came across this song because I always loved Billy’s songs. This song hits hard fir me. This was me and the man of my dreams. My brother tried setting me up with this guy he worked with. Now ny brothers never set me up with anyone …. Ever. I’d been drooling over a guy who came to the store where I worked and long story short this was the guy my brother was talking about. Henry had met another girl around the same time and mt brother had gone to school with her and he didn’t like her at all. We’ll fir some unknown reason I was scared. I’d been hurt in the past plus I was shy. He chased me relentlessly let me know he was definitely interested. Had mutual friends in common who invited me over for Bew Years Eve and invited him too who coincidentally brought mistletoe with him which of course I messed up. Long story short the other girl hung in there says all the right things even though he told everyone that I was the one he wanted. He finally gave up and once I realized I panicked abs decided to sent him flowers and let him know yes I’m definitely interested I was just scared. We’ll they delivered to his house while he was at work and guess who showed up at that time found them and threw them out. Ge found this out after so many yrs and he was very angry at the snob he wound up marrying. I found this out through mutual friends who know him and his brother. He’s been very unhappy with her fir yrs and was planning on leaving once his boys were old enough and on their own. Then he got hurt at work and came into money and she’s threatened that if he leaves she’ll see to it he loses everything. He confronted her about the flowers abs she admitted it and laughed. She knew he was interested in me all those yrs ago because my brother told her she said she’d do anything to keep him away from me. His brother told my friend he said if he’d gotten my flowers ge would’ve broke all speed limits to get to me. He admitted he fell so in love with me back then but thought I wasn’t thst into him do he settled fir her. He was getting older and wanted a family. This without a doubt was my biggest regret losing him. I had him right in the palm of my hand all I had to do was say yes. So when I hear this song my heart breaks all over again 💔💔😢

I married Jessica in 2013. That 2014 winter was one of the worst winters and snowfalls in Michigan’s history.... We had two flat tires that year. And when my then wife was on her way to church, she slid on ice totally one of our cars. That same year I was laid off from my job... She was and in my heart still is my best friend. With finances struggling, we both decided to get divorced that year. I regret it every day of my life that I didn’t hold to faith and her tighter in the times of struggle because my life is so much better now. And if my life would have been like this, we would have never divorced. Now she is with another guy, when I look at him... I think. It could have been me....

This is one of the most heartfelt, and gorgeous songs I've ever heard in my life. I first heard it when I was five years old, and this album was brand new. My parents had a copy on audio cassette, and I remember thinking wonderful it was even though I was too young to understand the lyrics very much as I was only five. :) This is just my opinion, so please take it as just my personal opinion, but as I see it Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Randy Travis, are the only country music musicians//artists who I believe are authentic to the soul of the music genre. There are probably others who would make me feel that way, but I haven't them yet. Modern country for me personally sounds empty and without emotional depth and passion compared to a song like this, "It Could've Been Me". It's amazing how 23 years after first hearing this song it still moves me. I only love country music, because of artists like Billy Ray Cyrus, and it makes me sad that he didn't produce very many albums. Thank you for reading my post. :)

Anyone ever had this actually happen to them?? I am telling you that it SUCKS!! You find out too late the one your heart really wanted, wanted you. I was a country music DJ when Billy Ray hit the industry, and Achy Breaky Heart was SO popular that people connected him to that song so strongly that they wouldn't allow him to do anything else. Either they loved the song so much that they didn't want to hear anything else, or they hated it so much they wouldn't give him a chance. Unfortunately it happens frequently in the entertainment business. I'm not talking about any particular person, but as a whole, fans are fickle when it comes entertainers
