This log splitter is awesome. Website states it can cut 10" logs. But this thing can do so much more. Split a 16" log with ease. I would definitely recommend this company as they make some quality tools. The cost is about $300 with free shipping. This is the cheapest log splitter I could find and it did not disappoint.

Open that sucker up and change that switch out to one that will stay on. Then you"ll have a free hand to control the the wood. Also build a table thats the same height as the deck for each side, that will keep the logs from busting your toes. A few little mods and you"ll have a good splitter.

Suggest you hone your splitting wedge leading edge to almost knife sharp edge. Easier for start of splitting & reduce pressure, stress on components. A cord & loop on the pump, ram lever allows the use of foot to operate & frees up a hand to steady log . A cheap, practical workaround that won't void your warranty.

First thing I'd do is make some kind of table on the sides to keep any of the split pieces from falling and hitting my feet (always wear steel toed boots when splitting wood) There are a few videos showing how to bypass the switch so you don't have to use both hands to operate it. It just males is simpler to operate and keep pieces from falling, etc.

💁🏽‍♂️ clear silicone spray for sliding parts. {no oil or grease. It collects debris} … And don’t forget to cover the entire thing in WD-40. Just like you should spray all your outdoor equipment with WD-40 every year. My regular log splitter has been out in the weather, (covered by open car port style), for 22 years. sprayed every year, doesn’t have any rust and the paint hasn’t even faded. Just like my tractor, all attachments, trailer etc. etc. that stay out in the elements. Water displacement - 40th blend brothers. 😎🤷🏽‍♂️You can’t have enough ! 🐎🐎🦅🪶🕊

Shame they left the ram stroke a little short. Short block to throw in would get you past that problem though. Could be a handy dandy thing to have around the house. 120vac and a couple thousand watts wouldn't break the bank on your solar batteries either.

Allegedly this is a safety feature. Changing the pusher head for a ForestMaster " Duocut" wedge head shorten the gap & improve performance immensely. Especially with stringy, knotty pieces.

Have one. Tried to split a log. Unit went completely dead? Did I blow a fuse? Did I ruin it?

A few things I don't like about it is that it takes two hands to power the unit. Another one is the stroke is to short to split the log all the way through.

You need to add on to your wedge!!! What's good is I see one guy had an old axe head he add to the wedge and man does it ever work nice like that!!! I'll tell ya I have watched so many of these video's !!! I'm going to be dreaming of them!!!! because I'm going to buy one but I want it to be the right one!!!! And as fare as holding the button down, wich you probably no by now is to buy a foot switch for it or you could drill a hole, one on each side of the button and put something to hold it down!!! Slick!!! You can use a nail or a Carter pin, and then it will stay running!!! I think that's a good idea because it free's up a hand and I think it's better to let that motor run then to keep turning it on and off everytime you split a chunk!!! What's your thoughts o'l boy !!!! Let me know!!! 😊❤ just say'n!!!!

@@teddybear0076 you’ll overheat the motor if it’s constantly running. Electric ⚡️ motor’s have a cycle limit depending upon how they are made/designed. 🐎🐎🦅🪶🕊

You didn't check the oil!!!! I bet it at less A half of a qt. Low if you check it, t will work even better!!!! Just say'n!!! 😊

SO I don't know if you will answer this but here goes, I bought an electric splitter from amazon 6.5 ton and I am unable to get it to split wood . When I try to split wood the hydraulic arm brings the wood in contact with the wedge but is stops .The arm will go back to the start position and the wood doesn't even have a mark on it. Any Ideas why?

Have you tried holding the buttons down? Is there a spit to add more hydraulic oil? Maybe a reset button some where?

Suggest you check the hydraulic oil level, my 2nd user machine lacked power. Topped up with oil & improved. Is your log longer than the length of ram travel? Have you opened the air bleed screw ? Try working from an edge rather than through the middle of log, turn log 180 degrees, sometimes that makes a difference. If keeping machine, hone the leading edge of the splitting wedge to almost knife sharp edge, found it easier to get started & also cleaner split in stringy wood. Sometimes semi seasoned will split when really fresh green or high moisture content won't. A few days drying out can make a lot of difference ! Good luck, keep safe, enjoy your tool. . .

This is not the best splitter, it kinda sucks you should have seen that the first time you tried it and had to use both hands. Hold two buttons at the same time? How you gonna control your wood. Should have got the yard max.

Never said it was the best. Cheapest probably. Works for me. I'm not a professional log splitter guy.
