Saw this on TV as a kid. My parents were shocked and surprised at Bowie's performance because they thought he was a degenerate, laugh. Their voices really do sound great together for sure.

Bing and David sang so beautifully together. This is such a unique pairing, but it worked out very well! It's funny when Bing said 'you too', referring to David saying they sang White Christmas at his home. Bing brought that song to the public with his movie 'Holiday Inn'. 'This classic Christmas film stars Bing Crosby opposite Fred Astaire, Marjorie Reynolds, Virginia Dale, and Walter Abel. It's also best known for being the film that gave us the song "White Christmas," which earned composer Irving Berlin an Oscar for Best Original Song in 1941. Bing sings "White Christmas" in the film like the holiday angel he is and helped turn it into the iconic song it is today'.

I think this version of the song is my father’s favorite Christmas recording. He seems to play it every year for the holiday. It’s certainly a special pairing of artists. People in the biz were a little surprised that David Bowie agreed to do this since he was no fan of christmas carols in fact he refused to sing Little Drummer Boy that's why he sings Peace on Earth. Before the shooting of this video the production crew were not sure which DB who would show up! It was in a time when he had been a lil' androgyne and then we had Bing Americas #1 gentleman! Well David Bowie showed his best side as we can see in the video.
