Dear BINGE fans, first of all, we love you and we miss you and we hope you're surviving this difficult time as best as possible.
We're popping on here in light of recent upsetting news regarding actor Drake Bell.
We unequivocally stand with and believe survivors.
We debated, as a team, removing this film from our channel entirely. The thought of a survivor feeling unsafe, violated, or triggered in any way is horrifying to us. It's not aligned with our mission, it's not necessary, and it's not kind. After much conversation, however, we decided to leave it up with this disclaimer because: A. Many other talented artists put their heart and talents into this piece, and it doesn't feel fair to them to erase their work because of actions of one person -- especially when that person was not a part of the core creative development and producing team, and B. We've gotten so many comments and feedback over the past 4 years about how much this story has helped folks. It feels like a shame for one person to negate the good this film has done.
We are very much open to feedback regarding our decision. We hope it's the right one. We're all learning, growing, and trying to live life in the most compassionate way possible.

SYNOPSIS:
Four Valentine's Days. Four stages of bulimia. Four bad, co-dependent dates with Jack (Drake Bell). Angela (Angela Gulner) is stuck in a seemingly endless cycle of her eating disorder: starve, binge, purge, repeat. With each day representing a different stage, Angela tries desperately to navigate both her friendship with her best friend and roommate, Kate (Daniela DiIorio) and her co-dependent relationship with her very own St. Valentine over a four year period.

I think you've picked the right course of action given the circumstances. However, maybe remove the "subscribe to Drake Bell" line in the description of the video. Seems a bit contradictory to leave it there. Take care guys x

And I really really like that an eating disorder isn't romanticized here. And that she's kind of endearing and unlikeable at the same time. The way she tries, albeit unsuccessfully, to help herself while self sabotaging at the same time. The way glimpses of seriousness shine through the undertones of humour and craziness.

Angela Gulner my ex told me the same and it sounds so ridiculous, but I guess we can't blame them when they don't understand how it is. People should inform themselves, tho, "eat healthy and do exercise" is not going to work and doesn't make us any favor. I see all of myself in her. The repeated cycle of starve, binge, purge, exercise, starve, binge... Everything is so spot on. The neurotic ticks, the moment of pondering before diving into a binge, the lack of self-control, the lack of commitment, the drudgery of the routine, the desperate need to break out of it, and failing year after year. I just want to be free of bulimia. Anyway, great video, guys. Amazing editing, cinematography, and music. Amazing acting. Amazing writing. Thanks for the hard work, it really shows.

Hey this is so many years later, but I just wanna let you know having a disordered relationship with food doesn’t mean you ‘lack self-control’. There are people who lack self control and eat for that reason, and there are people who have underlying emotional issues that manifest themselves in binge eating disorders. Don’t be so hard on yourself

Yes and I feel like guys with white knight syndrome and girls with eating/alcohol issues are so common in the real world. Especially with the line “don’t throw up anymore okay?” Guys like this have Such a Genuine lack of understanding the severity of the issue and need to be seen as “the fixer” who swoop in and are really proud of themselves. This captured it perfectly.

I can’t believe I just found this series. I watched the pilot and was just blown away. I love how there are no perfect characters. Angela’s struggles aren’t just hurting her, they’re hurting the ones she loves. She’s not this perfect, unfortunate angel like a lot of ED show and movie protagonists are. She’s real and she’s flawed. She’s unlikable at times and painfully relatable. Kate seems like a friend who has given up and been driven away. While she was once a close and caring friend, she’s become more apathetic as time goes on and her friend only seems to get worse. She’s honestly not a great friend, because she’s so tired of trying and just watching Angela spiral over and over. Jack seems well-intentioned, but has a savior complex. He doesn’t understand that you can’t just wish a mental illness away. He’s not a positive influence in Angela’s life but he’s the one (actually fairly wavering) constant she can cling onto. And in the pilot, Joshua is someone who tries to help others but is struggling to stay on track himself. He’s unethical without meaning to be (I mean, it can’t be legal to have someone sign themselves up for treatment while they’re drunk, never mind the obvious attraction he has to Angela) but he’s really trying to do what is right. They’re all incredibly flawed with great potential for growth. This is just how I see the characters, obviously I’m only going off my own interpretations of the pilot and this short. I’m really excited to learn more about these complex characters and better understand them. Thank y’all for such a moving and real story.

I love how this isn't just about the eating disorder but focuses on things in her life that could trigger her cycle of binging and purging. It just shows that the bad relationship with food is only a symptom of everything going on in her life and doesn't come close to romanticising it. Great prequel, can't wait for the new series

As someone who's suffered from Bulimia and Orthorexia, her state of mind is actually pretty accurate. ED's aren't just physical problems, they are mental...and make the person suffering from it delusional and in denial about what they are going through, to varying extents. This is fantastic, and I really hope that this gets turned into something bigger. If not, it's still fantastic on its own.

to my bulimics: dont brush right after throwing up, wait 30-60 mins and swish with a baking soda and water solution to neutralise the stomach acid.

This is sooo accurate. How when you are bulimic you feel like you stop respecting yourself or your life anymore, can’t take anything seriously except for your ED. Like so much of this is relatable. Trying to make promises to yourself not to eat. Boyfriend getting sick of it. Getting angry at him if he shows up early cuz he catches you in the middle of trying to clean up the reoccurring messes you’ve made and so on.

Angela, you rocked this. again. And I just love your voice-of-reason roomie. The drama:comedy ratio is spot on. This is by far the best and most relatable eating disorders story I have seen, and as someone who's been bulimic/anorexic/trying to recover for the better part of a decade, I am NOT just saying that. Dialogue is realistic too, and I know a lot of screenwriters struggle with this. Keep up all the awesome, this had better get picked up!!

This was amazing, and I cannot wait for more Binge. I can relate to getting stuck in cycles like that, especially deciding I'm going to be a new person, only to crash and burn days later. (Depending on my mood, this new person can be one who eats normally, or one who starves herself. I'm bad at both.) Anyways, this was a hilarious and touching prequel, and I can't wait for more.

YESSS, I've really been looking forward to this! Can't wait to see more of you guys!! I love how honest this is, sometimes when you're suffering from an ed you can feel so isolated and misunderstood, which makes comments like Jack's "Oh and don't throw up anymore, okay?" so painful and frustrating. BECAUSE IT HAPPENS SO OFTEN! And it's not that easy! This is so real! And it helps me so much in making me feel less alone, and like an actual crazy person. Thank you so much for all of your effort and making this happen. Putting your story out there and making it so brutally honest yet also hilarious is a very very brave thing to do and must take so much courage. You inspire me, Angela! And I'm thankful to everyone who has made these episodes possible. MORE PLEASE!

I finally told my boyfriend of two years, last night on Valentine's Day that I've struggled with an eating disorder for many many years off and on. One of the hardest, scariest things I've done!!! 😭 (besides admitting I have an ED to my family and go through treatment) And even though Eric has little understanding on exactly what this nasty disease is but it feels amazing to finally be completely open with him. He loves all of me. I'm so lucky... Oddly the best Valentine's Day ever!😅

I love everything to do with this programme! this is the best showing of the reality of bulimia ever. Bulimia is self created chaos, it's horrible, it consumes and wrecks your life but it's comfort, it's safety, it's twisted. I really hope this can be picked up, it really deserves it. It'll make everyone with an ED who b/ps laugh and actually paint a true picture for the general public rather than the (important, but) overdone trope of school girl gets anorexia, cries, goes to treatment, all works out in the end.

I absolutely adore pieces of content that explore stories from various perspectives and points in time. It gives the main story a more rounded, and in depth feel, which makes it so much more interesting! This is no exception! Really loved this, and it's super well done!
