I felt like the Little Sister protection segements were actually good in this game, compared to Bioshock 1. But that's because they give you tools and new plasmids so that the segements actually work and aren't annoying. It turned from an escort mission into a small tower defense game, which works much better.

yeah its fun but i feel like its not enough. we are supposed to play as a big daddy. i want to play a situation like in the intro. a situation of us had to follow the little sisters and have to protect them while doing it. i wanted to feel like a big daddy. a monstrous beast clad in metal and leather so I want while we are escorting the little sisters the splicers would device tactics so that they can steal the little sisters away such as distracting us with a small group of splicers while one goes to grab the little sister and I wanted the enemies to have a sense of fear. we all know that the big daddies are monstrous and dangerous and almost everyone are afraid of them I wanted this to be implemented in the game in a way like if were with the sisters the splicers are less likely to attack fearing your wrath and it also discourage you from wandering off looting or at the very least add some voice log that expresses their fear like a splicer warning others that you are in the area and told to be wary. I'm sorry about rambling but i feel Bioshock 2 as a waste of potential. I'm not saying its bad I'm just saying it can be much more than it already is

I personally think the story of 1 was better but the gameplay was a bit wonky and unbalanced. While in 2 the gameplay is much better but the story is slightly weaker. The main antagonist Andrew Ryan was much more memorable to me and had clever dialogue, while Sofia Lamb was just an really annoying psychopath.

@@inlinechris yep, but Bioshock Infinite... The first time I played it, I stopped halfway through the game. But then some years later I got it and finished it. The story and gameplay wasn't alluring to me, and I tried really hard to make it work. I tried to come up with different combinations and stuff like that, but it just doesn't work like in Bioshock 2. I remember freezing big daddies and then attaching rockets to them and making them fly around the map. I had a lot of fun planning how I would deal with the wave of enemies when protecting the little sisters.

The best series. Bio 2 wasnt as great as Bio 1, but by God it was great. Infinite was good but had extraordinary potential and I hope the next one takes those same ideas and builds more into it. I'm sure they won't disappoint. Between the story and gameplay, it's arguably a masterpiece.

It was amazing. Gave you more choices and more endings. Improved hacking by keeping you in game and rewarding you instead of taking you out of the game and to indifferent screen entirely. Being able to use both weapon and plasmid without constsntly switching. Playing as a big daddy and protecting little sisters and getting to really feel that perspective was amazing. New weapons and plasmids. One of the best story dlc. Voice acting amazing and getting to explore and learn even more of Rapture. Seeing Rapture years later and how the sea is slowly taking it back. It was all amazing and I will always love it.
@MysteriousTomJenkins
@MysteriousTomJenkins 3 жыл бұрын
One aspect I really liked about the DLC (among many things, it was great) is the fact that you can find robot Little Sisters in one of the areas. I like this because it makes sense, I imagine even with people wanting ADAM, they likely wouldn't enjoy the thought of turning little girls into monsters so having an expendable machine take their place makes a load of sense and probably faster than mutating a little girl and psychologically conditioning her. It also however makes sense why it failed because since its not a real person, the Big Daddies couldn't get attached to it so it never protected them so it never took off. This little moment shows that there were reasonable people in Rapture who wanted to make the ADAM market a little less fucked up but it just didn't work out.

I loved bio shock 2 because it gives you the ability to play as a creature you had to fight in the first game giving you a different perspective. It also felt badass mowing down splicers with a drill protecting a little sister. It also gave you more moments to prove your morality when it came down to dealing with character you could either kill or let live. And then the love story between a father and daughter who aren't related by blood showed how far someone could go for love. I think it was a perfect continuation to the first Bioshock. As for bio shock infinite I prefer to pretend like it doesn't exist
@MysteriousTomJenkins
@MysteriousTomJenkins 3 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% with the morality thing. In 1 it was basically a matter of are you a piece of shit or a good person because in the grand scheme of things, I think you got more than enough ADAM with either choice so you were killing children for nothing, at most you could get some abilities a little quicker. Meanwhile in 2 there is no real reward for saving or killing the people you run into (at most, the first one gives you a bot if you spare her) so its really just a matter of opinion if you think they need to die or not and unlike 1, its not a choice of selfishness but how you actually feel. Do you kill Grace because she was a huge threat and has a grudge against you or do you let her live because she's no longer a threat and her hatred is misguided? Do you let that journalist go despite him turning you and Eleanor into a Big Daddy and Little Sister respectively or do you take your revenge, being able to leave the area regardless? Do you give Gil Alexander his wish of dying that he wanted when he was sane or do you listen to what he is now who wants to live, either way getting his genetic key that allows you to progress? There were actual good reasons for either choice and the only real consequence is what ending you got so it was just really how you felt and less enticing you to do one choice for more rewards. I also feel similar to Infinite, its overhyped and that fact annoys me. Hell, it almost seems to reuse some parts of 2 as you are playing as a father trying to get his daughter from a corrupt and dangerous city run by a cult like group. Hell, one cut idea was that it was going to be revealed that Delta and Eleanor were actually related as Delta was the sperm donor Sophia used to have a child so Bioshock 2 even almost had the twist where the girl you're trying to save ended up being your daughter.
@daverumbear7668
@daverumbear7668 3 жыл бұрын
@@MysteriousTomJenkins I couldn't not have said it better! And I had no idea delta was the sperm donor! And as for infinite I didn't like how they kinda made it look like Booker and Elizabeth were like a love interest before the game came out and then you realize shes your daughter and I was like ewww why. I dunno if im the only one who got those vibes.
@MysteriousTomJenkins
@MysteriousTomJenkins 3 жыл бұрын
@@daverumbear7668 The sperm donor thing was a cut idea so I don't think its canon but there was an idea that Delta would have been Eleanor's biological father but it as of now I don't think its canon. I just pointed that out because 2 almost even had the surprise father twist that Infinite had.

Its like existing in two different universes where one hates it and the other loves it and you keep switching back. On top of that, while objectivism has been around for a long time, it's never been set it place. It was intriguing to see it in practice (or at least a form of it). Bioshock 2's use of collectivism failing just had a "duh" kind of feeling. We all know communism doesn't work. Every failed nation who's attempted it has shown that.

At first I didn't really like escorting little sisters to collect adam but once I got the hang of it and gained access to more of the games tools that made it easier it was actually pretty fun setting the stage prior for it. Not to mention it was leagues better here compared to the mission where you protect them in the first game. But the original's best ending was more impactful than the paragon ending for this one.

I appreciate your ability to look at the game critically and not immediately dismiss it as a thoughtless cash grab that, according to many, failed at making a good big daddy protagonist solely because you aren't grossly overpowered from the first moment of gameplay. On top of that, people like to treat 2 as noncanonical because the little sister/big daddy origins differ between 2 and infinite, a game whose entire premise centers around the constants and variables of a multiverse and in which you traverse several different universes/dimensions.

Also the game explains that the Big Daddy you play as is a failed prototype. The reason he is so different from the other Big Daddies is because the Alpha Series was the first attempt at having Big Daddies protect Little Sisters (I think the other Big Daddies were just for maintenance) so the player character is different from the others but it was a failure because the symbiotic bond between the Daddy and Sister meant that if it lost its Sister, it was pretty much useless where as normal Big Daddies, assuming they survived, could just adopt another one and keep working. The Alpha Daddies failed so they just repurposed the existing Big Daddies.
