@@legendando3004 It’s honestly better than I remember. The guns feel great, sound great, have smooth reload animations, and the vigors are extremely satisfying to use. My biggest complaint with the combat is that it never really gives you a chance to truly unleash the full power of your arsenal. The enemy density in this game is absolute dogshit. It feels like every fight in this game is over before it even begins. The combat would be so much better if the enemy density was boosted up by like 10x. The only encounter in the game that really pulls this off is the final battle. The game is also easy as hell unless you’re playing on 1999 mode. The enemy density still doesn’t change there though.

@@legendando3004 this comment is old but I would recommend playing on 1999 mode and not buying anything from a dollar bill machine. There’s an achievement for it and I found myself actually having to be careful sometimes with ammo and stuff.

there was something about this game that made it mentally amazing, it's a weird connection.

Literally 5 minutes ago I finished the game. I knew i'd seen it before but never finished it. Then I finished it and scarily got dejavu... And I remembered, and I had finished it but I can't have possibly done so before, but I knew it couldn't have been anything else. I am still shaking a little at how I forgot. Seriously, all that needs to happen now is me to touch the blood running from my nose...

In teory booker decided to die to close the loop, in fact during the game there is blackboard with the two scientists where they foracasted the ending. He did the right thing. Maybe in the after credit with elizabeth still in the crib it's his reward.

Well in actuality, anything is possible in their (chosen) universe and thus there are endings in which Booker and Elizabeth/Anna are happy! Just left up to player interpretation :D

I think it would be impossible to do that. It's just a story which only works as a videogame. It only is amazing because you can explore it. Also the multiverse theory and all that stuff... it's a lot more meaningful in the eyes of a gamer :)

I’ll put my personal twist on it because it isn’t so much a wishing to erase my memory of the game. Context: I was 18, almost 19 when Bioshock Infinite came out and it was right before I went into the military so I binged this game hard and fast. Bigger Context: I was a child of the 90s/early00s who grew up in the Deep South in a very, very rural tight-knit church based community. Like we has baptisms done in the river that was no further than a mile from the church on warm days. The lighthouse opening is super cool and a really good set up for the dichotomy Columbia provides. The minute the rocket pierced the clouds, the voice said “Hallelujah!”, and the deeply out of tune piano started playing I was instantly transported to a warm sunny day in BFE. When I got that shock out of my system, ya get it, I sat in that church and baptismal hall for like a full 15 minutes just listening to that choir go. Very few games have that power to pull me into a completely different timeframe of mind and nostalgia, but Bioshock Infinite did that in the opening. That’s what I want to experience again.

I'm the exact opposite. Played them for the first time a week ago. Couldn't put the first game down, so damn good. Had trouble getting through the second due to how uninteresting the plot/characters were, grate gameplay tho. Infinite however ..... wow ... the shallow pretentiousness oozing from it was unbearable, and the stripped down, on-rails features ... oof. It had some interesting ideas/themes, but ended up doing nothing with them. The ending was especially stupid, with how many inconsistencies, contradictions and plot holes it had. Idk. First one was incredible, second one mediocre and Infinite ... just extremely disappointing ..

@@IceChillxen ah, I get what you’re saying. I’ve seen the exact same sentiment from many other players that played through Infinite, and I totally understand why some would feel that way. Infinite relies solely on its atmosphere and narrative to succeed, in terms of gameplay it doesn’t really have much to offer if at all. Hell, even then Infinites writing does admittedly flop throughout the course of the story. Regardless, the new Bioshock game will be coming out in a few odd years or so. Here’s hoping it’s able to deliver on just what made Bioshock 1 so great as opposed to what the others in the series lacked.

Like, the reason Rapture was so technologically advanced was due to the congregation of the worlds best and brightest under Andrew Ryan and his 'pragmatic' ideology. While, Columbia is in the sky because .. uhhhh ... well, see plasmids are there because .... ummmm ... See what i mean? In Bioshock 1, even if not directly mentioned in the main plot, everything has some reasoning/lore behind it, scattered throughout the games varying environments, and it's down to the player weather they want to look into them or not. While Infinite is severely lacking in similar depth. Infinites narrative, also sufferers from similar issues. Like the way it goes about racism is "Floor is made of Floor". My thoughts were "Why was the floor built that way? Why was this specific material used? is there anything under the floor? Could you *please* elaborate in *any* way, shape or form?". And the games answer was just "No." And don't get me started on the whole multiverse thing ... Like why do they exposit time as branching, but then consider it linear several times in the story? Then proceed to fall into the most basic pitfall of linear time travel stories 'Child kills parent, never to be born to be able to kill said parent'! Then there are a bunch of other minor things. Like, why isn't Elizabeth racist? Considering all of her reading material was heavily curated by Cumsock&Co via her library. You'd figure since all she's been exposed to is the same bs, anti-color propaganda, and how big of a role racism seems to have in this society, she'd end up being *super* racist. Things like that. Infinites game play issues are pretty self-evident when compared to its predecessors and how many options and build variety we had in them. Also, cut features like hacking, ammo types, carrying backup EVE ets. in an attempt to make Elizabeth seem more useful as a companion. Again, just very shallow all around. Apologies for being a bit long winded. This game frustrated me very much after how good i found Bioshock 1 to be. If there is a 4, i honestly hope they retcon Infinite and its DLC due to how much it fuked with the franchises continuity/lore as a whole.

Yeah, Alison Krauss did a similarly composed piece for the film and a similar concept can also be found at the end of Portal 2 with the Turret Choir. Not only that but there are whole books of choir pieces with a similar style and I simply love it. It’s a really powerful form of a cappella that give a full rounded and even sound where the elements form the whole rather than the whole show casing key elements. You can really see how powerful and consistent the choir is and it gives a sense of wholeness and congressional tone that feels so impactful. More southern hymns have this warmer feel to it opposed to ethereal catholic styles, but I enjoy both so much I was simply blown away by the impressive composition of the harmonies. It’s breathtaking, and just imagine the whole choir live!

Ohhh well, they will bring back the System Shock series... but with all the experience after Bioshock. I think that would be great. And, I guess they could retake or remake Bioshock after that... a nice loop ;)
