It's kind of difficult to get sucked into the atmosphere and setting, which plays such a huge part in all three games, when you're sitting on a bus or taking a dump.

I don't have the best vision in the world so I can't usually tell the difference between minor graphical changes, resolution, and even framerate. It's sometimes hard to tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps for me so the Switch version honestly looks great to me. I might have to pick it up. Plus, even if I could tell the difference, I probably wouldn't care. Graphics and framerate isn't the most important thing imo. Thanks for the comparison, it was interesting.

Overall, I was impressed that a tiny cartridge could hold all three games along with all DLC and run so well without such a drastic decrease in performance or graphics. Sure, I would’ve preferred 60FPS but hey, what more can I expect from a portable tablet? Perhaps if Nintendo releases a pro version of the switch, we’ll see even better performance and/or graphics. I remember when Bioshock came out for iOS and was left hanging when they pulled it from the App Store. I loved the idea of playing these masterpieces on the road and now the switch port brings that dream to fruition. If I’m going to play on a big screen obviously I’m gonna run to PC, Xbox or PS but it’s so nice to have a great portable option to pass the time.
@fungusamongus96864 жыл бұрын
hismajestyc I hate to break it to you, but the cartridge only holds one game and you have to download the rest.
@hismajestycorintheus4 жыл бұрын
Fungusamongus Interesting, I was wondering if that’s how it worked. The reason I didn’t think that was because for my other games that were one physical and the rest digital provided digital codes for the remainder. This game didn’t.
@LateNightHalo4 жыл бұрын
Excellent video as always. I’m generally not a fan of the Bioshock 1 and 2 remasters. The changed lighting, modifications to textures and compressed audio really harms the experience IMO
@Nick9304 жыл бұрын
Agreed except for the sound. My biggest gripe with Bio1 and Bio2 is the broken sound on the PC. You basically NEED an EAX sound card to get it working properly. Without it, the sound pops and crackles after exceeding 16 channels ( which it does all the time with turrets) The remastered doesnt have this issue thankfully. I agree the visual tweaks take away from Irrational's initial vision, but im ok with most of the additions. The seaweed outside does seem excessive though
@jockturner15474 жыл бұрын
@@Nick930 Well the tweaks in the visuals don't detract from the original vision as it looks better than the original console releases... its a great port all around and the decision to lock it at 30fps is a little frustrating but admittedly because its a rock solid 30fps I can't say it was a bad decision.

I love getting ports of stuff on the Switch. I play games like civ 6 and skyrim on switch and I'm as happy as could be reasonably expected from a platform that doesn't (officially) support mods. But for an FPS, 30 frames per second is not acceptable. It's almost unacceptable in a game like skyrim too, but at least that is a bit less action/skill based than something like bioshock (which isn't really a twitchy game either). I'll go back to PC for these.
