You are very strong. Speaking out about your brain disorder (as folks in NAMI like to refer to any mental illness) is bringing awareness to many other's who may be struggling. 2007. Noticed it in middle school. But senior year of high school I had a major depressive disorder and it continued through 1st semester of college. My family thinks depression cannot be treated through medication....

It's good that you decided to stop hiding from the issue. Things could've gotten more embarrassing for you and family especially your sons, (having to worry and not understand)

In terms of the intrusive thoughts of dying, for me, it looks more like OCD syntoms.

hey!!!. I also got divorced... 8 days after my marriage... due to bipolar disorder
