Thanks for the review Lon. As stated in the video, BirdDog did send the camera but we didn't pay for the review nor did we even know it was live until we stumbled across it last night - so it's a totally independent and unbiased review.

Pretty awesome to see you reviewing a BirdDog camera. Their market is generally targeted at professional usage, though this probably fits right in line with a channel like yours, especially as you've gone all in on NDI. The P100 is pretty amazing for its price point, but their other cameras are in yet another league above, though get a lot more expensive fast. I have their P4K model, and it's really nice. You mentioned the bokeh on the P100, but the 1" sensor on the P4K makes really narrow DoF possible. (You can see this in a video I posted recently here on KZfaq.) It should be noted that the DIP switches set the output of the "legacy" outputs. The NDI resolution and frame rate is set independently via the web interface.

This is looking like a pretty awesome camera. One question, can it be mounted on a wall or would I need to put it on a shelf?

I’m interested to know when using it with vMix, if you don’t have the version which controls PTZ, can you use the Birddog software to set different positions and save them as individual inputs and then select those inputs to move to different locations based on the presets?

How are you using the PlayStation controller to control the PTZ? Looks like wireless using Vmix?

Does it look like the front of the lens has a filter thread Lon? Could be useful to increase the limited zoom capabilities? Perhaps another short video to explain?

It's not a threaded lens, we do have longer zoom options such as our 30x P200

Amazon is also suggesting alternative Jimcom brand of NDI cameras. Do you have an opinion between the two?

Hi Jeff, it's worth noting there are two versions of NDI - Full NDI and NDI HX. BirdDog make Full NDI cameras and Jimcom are NDI HX. NDI HX is a long-gap H.264 stream wrapped in NDI. The data rate caps out at about 12-15Mbits at 1080p60. As you see in the video above Full NDI is around 140Mbits at 1080p60 so it's a much higher quality stream. It's also a visually lossless I-frame codec. So there are subtle, yet very important differences :)
