Sorry to hear that. Kathleen! You live in a beautiful place, that’s for sure. I was only there for a few days many years ago. We are taking the kids to Quebec city this summer.

what a great adventure, Sparky! I have spent time in the areas about 100 miles west of there, but have not explored this portion of Arizona yet. This video is inspiring me to incorporate this area into my next Arizona trip!

Great Tom ! When are you going back? Herping? Or birding?

@@SparkyStensaas I would love to sneak a trip in early next month. Mostly herping, but also a little birding, particularly want to find and photograph Montezuma, Gambel's, and/or Scaled Quail. And also Inca Doves and Ground Doves. As far as herps go, I want to do red and blue phase Speckled Rattlesnakes again ... I have photographed them before, but could do better than I did with more time. I also have been hearing rumors that there is a whiteish color phase of Black-tailed Rattlesnakes around the Wilcox area, and I would love to search for them. And I still need to roam the open low desert at night and find my liver Sonoran Shovel-nosed Snake. And get better photos of Western Banded Geckos and more photos of Sidewinders. And, thanks to you, I am now aware of the Chiricahua Desert Museum, and I am a huge fan of art and a huge fan of herps, so that is a must visit now that I learned of its existence. So many specific targets on my list I don't know how to fit them all in to a two week venture!

This was the first series of videos i watched when i was planning a 11day trip to SE Arizona last July. You pointed me to a lot of good spots. I got photos of 84 new birds which included 13 different hummingbirds and yes the Berryline was one. It was nesting at Ramsey canyon. Unfortunately i didnt get a Trogon, which is the reason Im planning another July trip this year lol Hopefully this time i can get one. Thanks again for the awesome videos.

Bo Dog approves of his appearance in this video! He is still stealing seats from birdwatchers. Nicely done, video captures the essence of life here in the Chiricahua Mts. Posted by Winston Lewis at The George Walker House.

Hi Scott, I was there many years ago when it was still Mary Jo’s B&B. I think we were there for a White-eared Hummingbird. I Remember that there were forest fires on the hillsides and helicopters dumping water. I’d like to go back now that it’s a sanctuary. Thanks for the tip!

Just love your birding videos. Especially, west and southwest. I consider you an ornithologist. What camera model and lenses do you use for capturing birding photos? I used to live in MPLS.
@SparkyStensaas
@SparkyStensaas Жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for your kind words! I use the canon R5 with the Canon 100 to 500 mm RF lens. It is a great lightweight combo that I can hand hold. I have never been able to afford a 500/f4 or 600/f4 but those are very heavy and tough to hand hold. Are you also a bird photographer? Are you looking to upgrade your kit? Let me know if you have any questions take care.
