Birding in Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge | Black Point Wildlife Drive

I'm birding in Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge near Titusville. This is one of Florida's premier birding destinations. At this time, my target bird was Cinnamon Teal, rare in Florida but seen lately at Black Point Wildlife Drive. Take a look at the video to see how did it go.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. My main birding camera was in service so I used my old Nikon camera but it doesn't have enough zoom so I captured how I could. Turned out pretty good. Thanks 😊

A favorite place, and my favorite time is pre-dawn to about 8am. Beautiful place. Always stop there when I come to Florida.

Thanks for sharing your birding trip Thomas, it looks like a spectacular birding site with a huge flock of Egrets. The Blue-Winged Teal is a real rarity here and as far as I know the Cinnamon Teal is not even on the U.K. bird list. Interesting to see all your other native birds.

Have you ever been to Myakka River State Park? There were great flocks of egrets and herons and all sorts of others. Anhingas and owls and woodpeckers including a Pileated I saw. You have the equipment and skill to capture it wonderfully. Fantastic episode today! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. Peace to you.

Heaps of big white herons, the angina bird is outnumbered :) impressive birding here in Merritt Island many bird species to see, it never disappoint one bit!

@@FollowThomas we head out to the wildlife refuge info center and walk and drive the trails and head to the manatee outlook each time we travel to Disney :)
