2:49 Hammonds/Dusky, it's hard to tell without a good look at the primary projection.

Darn, the branch was blocking it! I'm always hesitant to name the small flycatchers while I'm filming because they all look so similar.

2:03 Ha! This is a funny bird. Looks like a distant hybrid with Townsend's Warbler. Notice how its flanks are duskier than a typical Hermit Warbler and it has a slightly (although within variation) darker aricular patch than a pure hermit. Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable calling that a Hermit Warbler. I would go with either setophaga sp. new world warbler sp. or Townsends/Hermit Warbler.

I think that second warbler is a hermit because townsends at any age would't have a yellow belly. Also the black on the cheek would be a bit more prominent on a townsends. Great video!

Dang! No Elegant Trogon? Someone told me they could be found on this trail. Im still going to hike it next month 🙂

I know! I was really disappointed to not see the Elegant Trogan. I thought I would see it on this trail too. I hiked all over the canyon this day and didn't see it. Hopefully you get a good look at it! :)

"Cor-dee-air-rin" Flycatcher goes hand in hand with Pyrrhuloxia with being very difficult and stupidly hard to pronounce!
