Birgu Hidden Sea Cave Kayak Malta

Today will start my adventure from Cospicua former Dry Docks and make my way to a hidden cave in Vittoriosa . I cannot ignore the good job do here from changing this ugly drydocks to a beautiful recreational area. On our way we encounter various forts and gaurd towers, know as gaurdiola. Lastly we enter this sea cave to sind a small sandy beach. On entering one can see rockfall inside, thus aking this cave not so stable. As I always say enter at your own risk as no cave is 100% safe and this one , the signs are there !

Thanks for the vlog while kayaking around Cottonera. It is nice to see those places from the sea shore. That cave seems interesting as much as it looks dangerous, but as you mentioned caves are never 100% safe so one has always to use the utmost caution. Well done again Pierre.👍👍

That was a magical little cave, Throughly enjoy that visit, thanks for showing us . Where you went under the bridge by the luxury flats there is a nice restaurant in the corner under the fort, not sure if it's still there, last time we went there was a few years back. Take care Pierre 🇲🇹🛶

I remember old #1 Dock, apprentice @ Malta Drydocks (Swan Hunter Grp) 69-71. That beautiful cave was the 'icing on the cake'. Oh wow was that the largest dry dock in the world until China built one bigger? Malta serviced many countries military ships. My grandfather worked on the docks ship building around Senglia i think. Nice view from the water. Thank you.

It’s very simple, sometimes I got criticised cause a cave is dangerous, and some rocks can fall, like this everyone can asses and make a judgment . As many look at caves as if they are a house ! All caves carry a degree of danger!

You also have to be careful it is not prone to rising tide as you might get trapped in there for long hours. In these adventures it is always wise to go in twos and while one explores the other keeps watch outside keeping in mind that phone might not have reception in there.
