Discover the allure of Arizona's living ghost towns: Bisbee, Tombstone, and Jerome. Each preserves a distinct narrative from the past, from Bisbee's artistic community to Tombstone's Wild West legends and Jerome's mining heritage.
Nestled in the rugged landscapes of Arizona, the living ghost towns of Bisbee, Tombstone, and Jerome stand as resilient testaments to the state's rich history. In Bisbee, former mining town turned vibrant artistic community, the streets echo with the footsteps of both miners and modern-day creatives. Tombstone, famously known as "The Town Too Tough to Die," encapsulates the Wild West with its historic Allen Street, where gunfights and saloons bring the tales of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday to life.
Meanwhile, Jerome, perched on the side of Cleopatra Hill, unveils its mining past through weathered structures and panoramic views of the Verde Valley. Today, it thrives as an eclectic town, blending history and modernity. Each ghost town offers a unique narrative, inviting visitors to wander through time, immersing themselves in the echoes of the past while enjoying the vibrant culture that now breathes life into these Arizona relics.

Thanks for another nice historical video. I have fond memories of Jerome when I was a kid. My grandfather used to live in Kirkland Az and my Aunt still lives in Prescott. We would visit during summer vacations from SoCal. I always enjoyed our visits. Arizona has some of the most beautiful deserts in the country. 👍

Thanks! Now you need to visit Jerome to see if it jogs your memory. Either way, I think you’d love Jerome and it would be a good one to visit for your channel! I barely popped the top on it.

I enjoyed this video very much! Having been to these old towns a couple of times years ago, I feel pulled to go back and see some things I’ve missed that I saw in your video. The courthouse in Tombstone, for one, I’ve never been inside! The museum inside looks great! And there appears to be more open businesses/shops in downtown Bisbee and Jerome than there used to be. Thanks for the review. It’s a long drive from Houston area, but I’ll make it!

The courthouse is a must. It's really packed full of things. And yikes! Houston! Yeah, that is definitely one long drive! 😅 (Did Austin to Phoenix in a day. It can be exhausting. LOL)

Jerome is a neat little town, we arrived there later in the day so we had just enough time to eat and explore a bit before the shops closed and the sun set. We didn’t know about the museum unfortunately, I would have loved to see more samples of the minerals mined there, but I did buy a chunk of copper ore from Jerome. we discovered the fudge shop and candy store!😂 I spent probably an irresponsible amount of money in the rocks and minerals shop and my boyfriend spent on the fudge and candy. Lots of cool artisan shops there. We’re already talking about returning one day

We still haven't checked out the stores yet. One of these days we're going to have to head there and spend time just checking out the businesses rather than filming buildings and history. 😅

When I went to NAU in the 90s, I used to drive to Jerome quite often. It's so much busier now and it's often quite hard to find parking. But now that I live in Tucson, day trips to Bisbee are always fun. I usually end up at the Quarry having a good lunch and listening to their most certainly not old west playlist (Type O Negative, They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, and other bands who don't start with a T). Tombstone is too tourist-trap for my taste.

Kinda agree about Tombstone to some degree. One of the reasons why we enjoy the lesser visited and more historical things there like the Rose Tree Museum and Courthouse. But what I REALLY have to ask is... how have I missed this playlist?? It sounds quite nostalgic for someone who also was in high school and college in the 90s! 🤩

Yup! Just around the corner so to speak. We combined the two in a daytrip from Phoenix once. Didn't really leave a huge amount of time to leisurely wander but it was a nice taste and outing for the day. 😄
