So, moral of the story is that yes, there is tax evasion but people don't evade as much tax as you think. Rather, through intelligent tax planning, they try to avoid taxes they don't have to pay. We have well known tax saving tools like HUFs for instance. Avoiding tax is legal. Evading is not legal. You should make all legal disclosures necessary. Let's be clear that anyone (especially Indians) who is in the position to save tax, will choose to save tax.

@@akshaypendyala Acc to ur anology , 30% tax on 1 CR per annum, whereas in some EU countries like Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands etc... the tax is almost 45- 50 % meaning on a salary of 100,000 euros , you would end up paying 45,000 to 50,000 euros in tax !!

The reason why I am angry because, govt. taxes the heck out of hard working people but does nothing in return for them. Next time whenever you do analogies, look at the context and factors as well. I believe, most of the black money is in the real estate and unorganized sectors. Technically black money is untaxed income, and most of it is generated by politicians, government officers(Probably 50 to 60%), but the other by common people who don't pay the proper amount of income tax. In India, only employees pay income tax properly.

One correction: Govt is asking IT to conduct raid not only on opposition but on anyone who criticizes Govt's action. "Dainik Jagaran" newspaper : for criticizing govt action & reporting covid deaths, Sonu Sood: For standing with Arvind Kejriwal etc. Also, The action like Demonetization was utter failure in curving black money.

So its basically just saving the money by trying to use the law itself. You disclose your wealth then you use the laws to funnel them as different assets on which you don't have to pay taxes. Just like Elon Musk did the guy didn't payed a single cent in taxes though thats America the country founded by tax evaders.

What Elon is doing is perfectly legal. He provides employment and has implemented huge amount of innovation to bring our would to a better place, do you want to punish such people? He doesn't pay taxes since his wealth is tied in stocks not in income, and whenever Elon Musk sells his stocks, he has to pay 25% capital gains tax. Do your homework before hating.

Few points that are incorrect. 1. Modi never made any such statements about putting 15 lakh in everyone's account. This is just wrong information. Please correct it. 2. Demonetisation was done to prevent inflation as a large number of counterfeit currency was being pumped into India. The silver thread that goes into Currency, the ink used to make currency, the paper was all imported putting a strain on India. With new notes, much of these raw materials are now sourced from within India. Countering black money within India was just one of the objectives of demonetization. 3. Digital transactions, new bank accounts for the poor, less cash transactions are many benefits 9f demonetisation that should have been given a mention without which the video makes it appear as if the government failed in their objective of curbing black money. The video appears to be politically motivated due to exclusion of these beneficial points and by including just the negative ones.
