Guitarist in this song is Paco da Lucia, one of the greatest flamenco guitarists, Brian had so many good colaborations (Tina Turner, Sting&Rod Steward) dude was powerhous in 80s and 90s and also he is amazing photographer

Not only one of the greatest flamenco guitar players who ever existed but the greatest guitarist of all times imo. Check "entre dos aguas" or "sevillanas del siglo 17" for example and you will experience his incomparable greatness and talent.

Romance isn't dead - you haven't found the man who sweeps you away in it. As beautiful as you are, you'll have to kick many jerks away before finding a romantic. You also have to remember - there's a massive difference between romance and love. When you listen to the words, it speaks of love.

This song was from a great movie from the 90s called Don Juan Demarco. Johnny Depp was a young man who was in a mental health facility because he believed he was the great lover Don Juan Demarco. In the end he helped his therapist played by Marlon Brando to fall in love with his own wife. This song I so beautiful and I love it. You really can’t go wrong with Bryan Adams.

Wow... this really has a "flamenco" guitar vibe to it. I must have had a poor stereo back in '95 when this song was released. I did not realize how distinctive the guitar was. What a treat.....

This is my favorite Bryan Adams song. It makes me emotional every time. And even though I have never experienced true love or romance, this ballad doesn't make me feel sad or longing. It's very pleasant and it gives me hope. Maybe one if I do ever find that special someone, I will be guided and inspired by this beautiful song.

I always loved the flamenco style guitar work in this song. Definitely 1995. I have flashbacks to not being to escape this song when I was in middle school lol. It was everywhere on radio.

Hey Bisscute, thanks for this reaction; it did bring back memories of my high school days, since it came out when I was in high school (I was 15 when that song came out, it was for Don Marco, with Johnny Depp). You set your standards; if you want a bed of roses, serenade and romance, there are men that will give you that. Think of it like a Rose; you have to go through a "few pricks" to get to it!😉

The reason for the whole romantic thing is cos the song is from the film "Don Juan de Marco", in which Johnny Depp claims to be the titular king of romance, old-school lover of women, and it freaks people out so much that he is instituitionalised and his psychologist, Marlon Brando, has to figure out if he's for real or crazy. So the film plays with the notion of romance being dead, and the song is sung from Don Juan's perspective.

It is with the cameo by the great, spanish flaminco guitar player, Paco da Lucia, who does the flaminco guitar style in this video. That is what gives this song its tone and voice. The live preformance with Paco da Lucia, and Bryan Adams is the best.
