It's a great feeling when you can repair even a low cost item and save it from the recycling. I have done this with many items, microwave ovens often only require a new fuse or capacitor.

Shorted commutator segments from debris is a possibility. T/S many of these.

Take that Chinese P.O.S motor and attach 250V directly to it. Then sit back and enjoy the screaming noise it makes when its revving its guts out for the short while it takes before it burns out.

I did wonder if she had sucked up a blob of water by accident. Commutators/carbon brushes lock up if damp. A friend put a vacuum cleaner in his shed, a month later he needed it, dead as a dodo, i took it apart and the carbon brushes had stuck in the holders. It took 10 mins for me to clean it up, works great now :-D People do silly things.

That is what I think happened.Carbon dust got wet and shorted on the commutator. I "burned" it off. Notice that there was moisture inside. I think it got wet even though she said it didn't.

@@12voltvids I think you found the problem, if you dont want to take it apart, what about using brake cleaner spray to blast the commutator/brushes. Or she will have to buy a new brush assembly, serve her right for not being careful.

@@zx8401ztv she bought it on Facebook and it had a bunch of dirt and crap wrapped around the power brush. Took apart to clean and it didn't work. I think water got in to the motor and the carbon dust got between the commutator. this caused a short which made the circuit breaker open. I cranked the current and burned it away. I ran it at running viktage of 16 volts for over an hour. On the video I had it running at 18v max. On 16 it is much quieter and runs smooth.

@@zx8401ztv she moved out a few years ago and left me her 🐈 because she wasn't allow a 🐈 where she lives and then got another 🐈. That's ok I like her old cat. Siamese and very affectionate
