They just released a new video yesterday. It is their version of O' Holy Night. It is the best version of that song that I have ever heard.

They have 5 or 6 Christmas albums…I forget exactly how many. I second the requests for their new Oh Holy Night, it’s stunning.

This is frequently know as the song where Mitch doesn't breathe. There are a couple live performances where he sings that long first couple of verses with no apparent breaths. It's a little harder to tell in this because the camera cuts away, but I still never hear a breath. I love the complex harmonies and different stacked notes they sing - it's amazing. There's an interview with Matt about this song and he says its one of the most complex that they do because the parts are all so intricate and it only takes one person off a beat or a note and things fall apart. Luckily they are professional enough that I doubt that happens much. Thanks for reacting to this - still one of my faves.

If you want more Pentatonix a cappella "instrumentals" I recommend "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and "Waltz of the Flowers." Neither has words. Both of them are from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," and they were intended to be played by a full orchestra, which Pentatonix apparently considers to be a dare. They won their second Grammy for "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy."

Love watching you react to Pentatonix! O Come All Ye Faithful is my second favorite Christmas song of theirs, right behind Mary Did You Know. Another amazing one is Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy from the Nutcracker. It's a song with no words sung by a group with no instruments!

No one does Christmas better than PTX. Had the pleasure of seeing their Christmas concert live in 2021. If you haven’t seen them do “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”, you should add it. They won a Grammy. Side note: Jung Kook just released the performance mv for his remix of “Standing Next to You” with USHER!

I've always has mixed feelings about Pentatonix. I think their music is great. Really amazingly talented group of people that I thoroughly enjoy listening to, but for some reason I can't stand looking at them. Have no idea why that is, but I think it might have to do with some of the weird facial expressions they have to make in order to produce certain sounds. It simultaneously entertains and annoys the hell out of me. So I stick to just listening to them.

My favorite live version of their performance of Carol of The Bells is from "Christmas Under The Stars". Can't seem to find it on KZfaq anywhere, though. 🫤
