I must have watched a 100 or more reactions to Emma's performance, but your comments regarding her bodylanguage has not been registered by me in any reaction before. And it is so obviously apparant how important this aspect in performing a song is... Emma makes it so easy to experience, that words in another language are accompanied by a language we all understand, that of the body. Thank you!

keep in mind that there was 12500 people there at that concert. And this was her first live performance in front of a full symphony orchestra, which i might add made this song perfect. Now you know what perfection sounds like!!!

Bullied by schoolkids because of her disease and is singing her song of life Listen to me, me, the singer-to-be Tell your lovers, your friends about me Tell them about this girl with the black eyes and the crazy dream. What I want is to write stories that will reach you. That's all Voilà, voilà, voilà, that's who I am. This is me, even when I lie open I'm afraid, yes This is me in the noise and in the silence Look at me, or at least what's left of me Look at me before I hate myself What shall I tell you that another's lips will not tell you? It's little, but it's all I have; I put it there. That's it Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am This is me me, even if I lie open, it is finished This is my face, this is my scream, this is who I am Voilà, voilà, voilà, it's right here Me, my dream, my desire, how I go to ruin, how I laugh at it That's me in the noise and in the silence. Don't go, I beg you, stay for a long time. It may not save me, no But to live without you, I don't know how to do it. Love me like you love a friend who's going away forever I want people to love me because I can't like my outline Voilà, voilà, voilà, this is who I am This is me, even when I lie open, it's over This is me in the noise and also in the rage Look at me, and in the end also my eyes and my hands All I have is here, it's my face, it's my screaming This is me me, this is me me Voilà Voilà Voilà, voilà Voilà

She does not have lung problems and is not on a respirator. She has gastroparesis and uses a machine with feeding tubes to her stomach. Yeah, her diaphragm and lungs are just fine. And she has been performing before large audiences for 8-9 years. The song was the French entry to the Europop competition before this (can't remember the previous artist's name without looking it up). And also the Lara Fabian comparison is very appropriate.

Angelina has been a world class artist and consummate pro since she was 8 years old. She is a once in a lifetime artist. She's not widely know in the US yet but her list of accomplishments internationally is very impressive. Republic Records (i.e. Taylor Swift) has built a studio just for her and is bringing her along gradually. Do some more reactions to her and watch your subscriptions grow. Angelina's covers are especially impressive for me. She takes classic jazz tracks and breathes new life in to them.

The people you saw were the other contestants. are contestants on this show, Singer 2017. He was invited to participate and was the first foreigner and the youngest non-professional singer in the show's history. The others were 12-39 years his senior. The guy wearing the glasses is Terry Lin and he and Dimash became good friends. All of the others took Dimash under their wings and even bought medicine for him after he became ill and lost his voice. The others said that it was stressful to have to perform after Dimash. Yes, this is an older video. Dimash was only 22 years old. I hope you do other songs by him on that show; like "The Show Must Go On", "All By Myself", and "Unforgettable Day" ( which he wrote at 19 yrs. of age), and Confessa/ Diva Dance. His native language is Kazakh, and his first four songs were sung in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin, with only one week to learn for each performance. Thank you for this video, one of my favorites, and I hope you do more.

I dont mean to be critical but you have the wrong diagnosis for Emma has a condition where her stomach is paralysed and she cannot eat. She has to have a feeding tube in her abdomen for 22 hours a day to give her body what it needs. Two tubes in fact. Right up to almost performing she has to have that feeding apparatus in place giving her the time to sing. Shr has to take the equipment wherever she goes. A remarkable young girl with a beautiful talent.

Emma's sister, father and brother can be seen on 9:04. Emma is attached to the tubes 22 hours a day, not only to enable her to eat the food, but also digest it. She can be active during those hours but must carry the equipment in a back pack. Someone has given you the link to Butterfly, which was written for her. Another, which also expresses her experience is Strijder (Warrior), official video with English lyrics. If performance interests you, she sang All I Want For Christmas, in Andre's Christmas concerts. Extraordinary for a 15-year-old with little big-stage experience, and engaging with experienced professional entertainers. There are two drive-by videos in which she carries her back pack, and one when she visited her school for a celebration after winning Voice Kids. See: Emma - Vrijeschool Parkstad.

Emma does not have lung problems and she is not on a respirator. The Introduction will fill you in. Emma is an extraordinarily talented vocal artist and performer. Since this performance of 'Voila' last july 2023, Emma has been steadily increasing her stature in the world of music with masterful performances across the world as a featured vocalist on world tour with Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss orchestra. Most recently, as part of the annual 5th of May Liberation commemorations in the Netherlands, Emma performed a live duet of 'If You Believe' with April Darby on a waterfront stage before the Royal Family of the Netherlands and the entire Dutch nation in Amsterdam. It was a beautiful and powerful performance that will be long remembered by those in attendance. The video is available on KZfaq if you'd like to check it out. Thanks for reacting to this epic performance of 'Voila' by Emma. This is only one of many to come.

Another amazing thing about this performance is that she is a Dutch girl who cannot speak French, but with the help of a French teacher, learned this song. It was the runner up song for a French woman a few years back in the Eurovision song contest. That singers name was Barbera Pravi I think

TLDR; she is beyond incredible... but here is some background and more info. I have been a live sound engineer for 39 years. It's gotten me in to see some incredible performers, but nothing prepared me for Emma. This big strong dude here ate up a box of tissues and I barely understood a dozen words. Another box when I found a version with subtitles. All of her Voice Kids performances as well as 2 singles she released are on KZfaq. She speaks Dutch and perfect English, but this song was in French, making her performance even more amazing. She learned it phonetically with the help of a family friend who is a French teacher. Both of her singles are in Dutch, which is a beautiful language to hear in song. Laat Mij Een Vlinder Zijn (Let Me Be a Butterfly) and Strijder (Wattior) were both inspired from dealing with her condition. And speaking of her condition. Gastroparesis is relatively rare and is treatable, but requires her to be connected to 2 feeding pumps 22 hours a day. The 2 hours she can disconnect is the only time she feels free (hence the butterfly reference) so she sings. Being connected to pumps has been hard. As a child the backpack carrying her equipment nearly swallowed her whole. She couldn't carry it for any length of time and often had to wheel it around on a modified walker, earning her the (derrogatory) nickname "Grandma". Having challenges getting enough nutrition also limits her energy and growth. She looked like a perfectly normal 15yo (now 16) walking out on stage, but look closer and see how tiny she is. This earned her even more teasing as "dwerg" (Dutch for dwarf). Kids can be cruel, and the social issues caused by her disorder are probably worse than any physical discomfort... although she has had multiple surgeries and changing out her tube set is extremely painful. But as Meastro Rieu noted she is a brave girl...De meisje ben een Strijder. (The girl is a Warrior) She is also an inspiration... obviously she is very beautiful, but that modest, elegant black dress is more than just formal wear for the Vritjhof Theater - her informal performances display her in more teen trendy clothing, but still very respectable. She knows she is pretty and talented, there is no need to resort to a skimpy outfit or crazy antics for attention. She is an awesome role model. Beyond that she put €25,000 of her prize money into her foundation gastrostars.nl which is the largest support organization for her peers, let alone research.

This is a lovely and perfect intro to Emma. I have been following Emma since i discovered Emma 10 months ago from a random TicToc find. One tiny point to add, as well as Dutch and English, Emma also speaks fluent German. The town Kerkrade where she lives used to be larger but after the Napoleonic Wars was split down the middle by a moved German border. Pretty much everyone in Kerkrade speaks German as well as they do Dutch. ❤ After Emma’s performance in Düsseldorf with Helene Fischer, Emma was interviewed on stage by Helene in German with Emma explaining he Gastroparesis.
@Only1Shadow3 күн бұрын
@RogerClutton I had heard she spoke German but have been unable to verify that. Wouldn't surprise me, it is very similar to Dutch.
@Only1Shadow3 күн бұрын
@@RogerClutton I'm not impressed with the Helene Fischer duet... that coochie cutter outfit was inappropriate at the least, Helene was pitch perfect but totally bland, and Emma seemed off her game.
@RogerClutton3 күн бұрын
@@Only1Shadow Yes, its similar to Dutch but given that if you walk up Niewstraat (New Street) in Kerkrade you are in The Netherlands, and cross the road to come back, walking on the other side, you are in Germany. The Helen Fischer interview at the end of Voila is here. Emma struggles to get a word in edge-ways but Helene confirms that Emma speaks Dutch, English and German. Then Emma speaks confidently in German about her Gastorparesis. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbOKlLijst7Yiac.html Emma also sang the German song 'Ein Bisschen Frieden' in Amsterdam, Antwerp and the 8 German cities she visited in January as part of the 'World Tour'. She had no need to learn this one phonetically. 👍❤
@Only1Shadow3 күн бұрын
@RogerClutton makes sense, and wouldn't be hard for her to learn if she didn't. I speak just enough Dutch to carry on a very simple conversation... maybe. It isn't spoken here in the US except the Amish communities use Pensylvania Dutch which broke off the main dialect hundreds of years ago. The 3 languages are similar enough to hold a conversation but with a good deal of difficulty. Emma was a huge fan of "the German Beyoncé", but I wonder if that still holds true after meeting her. I thought maybe her rather disappointing (but still far above most performers) performance with Fischer was due to a case of nerves? Perhaps she was a bit starstruck? Perhaps Fischer "arranged" a case of nerves so she wouldn't be upstaged by a 15yo (it happens)? Maybe Emma had enough interaction with her to realize our idols rarely live up to our expectations? I don't know, but Emma was clearly off her game and Helene's performance was just sterile.
