Bitter Cold WARM WATER MALLARDS!! (You Won't Believe How Close They Are)

With frigid temperatures looming, we knew this hunt would be a waiting game. After letting the sun start to come up, we made the short hike to the warm water Wyoming spring, set up what F1 mallards would fit in the hole, and began to wait. It didn’t take long before we had a good idea of what we were in for. The first ducks we saw came from the heavens, and fell like green-headed rocks right into our 10X15 warm water spread on their first pass. Many followed. It wasn’t long before the straps were filling up, and every flock was the new "best I’ve ever seen a duck commit to a spread." To say this one with Curt Johnson of 307 Fowl Play Outfitters was a special one would be a dramatic understatement. Another trip to Wyoming, another life-long memory made.

10:45 is the first time we see water in this duck hunting video. It looks about 300 yards off at that point as well.

The problem is they were too close. Then, like me, you fail to shoulder your gun. Great hunt! Loved every minute.

That’s awesome, but I just got permission on a place where mallards are even closer and even tighter. Granted, the season closed a month ago for ducks in Illinois, but hunting honkers over the only open water in northern Illinois is awesome. The ducks just love it

Amazing shoot but decoys and calling prolly hurt more then helped. 2 motion decoys and sit 15 yards off the water.

Think about all the birds that was shot off camera and never found. Thick cattails and no dog is a combo for not finding birds.

Nice Video of seeing Ducks flare so much. I think Camera man was not Cover up enough. You did not react to the First few Ducks Flaring. But thanks. Maybe to close to the Big Tree? I say Cameraman.
