Sitting is killing you. Although if you are like most people, you probably don't have access to an alternative workspace option like a treadmill desk.
If you are forced to sit, you should maximize your desk's potential for healthy ergonomics and productivity with this perfect setup.

The best way to sit is to stand up. I studied a lot and this is what I am doing now to maintain my health (I feel great now and I have a chronic disease) : I hacked my office, I got a trampoline, a home bicycle, some elastic bands and accessories.. a stand up desk (from time to time). and I use them every 30 minutes or so. When I sit I'm using a lumbar pillow (kebado - you can find it on amazon) but most of the pillows will do the trick. Many people think that going to gym is enough... but studies showed that we need stay active all day long.

Very good advices, considering your time seated has to be limited and alternated with stand sessions. Watching this video carefully, you can see how necessary is a good ergonomic, office chair, with a height control, hip tilt, back support and armrests. HON Ignition 2.0 is a fine example of a good chair with the minimal features and high quality. You can get it in Manhattan Office Design, NYC.

I need this same video but for *laptops* . I'm having major posture problems and discomfort. All these tips are great but most of them are for desktop computers. I can't have my keyboard flat on the desk and the top of the monitor above eye level with a laptop.

You need to have an external keyboard and mouse and use a kickstand or a book to raise your laptop. There is no other way, Laptop is just not ergonomics friendly if you intend to work long hours. For the rest, same principles described in this video remain.

I'm only 5'7" so for my feet to be flat on the floor but still have my arms at a comfortable resting position I need a desk that is 27" in height. Although seems like the lowest I can ever find anywhere is 30". I know I could buy a foot rest pad but I rather a proper size desk for my build, I hate being short.

It is incorrect to have any part of the monitor above you line of sight. It's uncomfortable for your eyes in many ways. Looking up for long periods strains eye muscles, looking up opens eyes more widely and causes dry eyes, bifocals (for near vision) don't work when looking up.
