For data transfer with the Orico thunderbolt dock, you will almost always be limited by your SSD speed. That said, thunderbolt is really nice for being able to simultaneously do 4k+ video output, and use multiple high speed USB ports at the same time.

I think you’re set up is great.Appreciate the ideas 😊 I got the Orbitkey desk mate & nest recently…it’s just a box & a simple idea but a seriously useful one. I’m more organised than I’ve ever been. 😊

Love your desk set up! I tried the Orico, but was annoyed there wasn’t an HDMI port, so I stuck with my Hyperdrive dock. But I’ll definitely be checking out some of the other cool stuff you showed us. Well done!

Thanks! Yeah - it’s a nice dock if you don’t mind that - think otherwise invest more cash in a faster transfer speed option and with HDMI. I rate it as a good everyday option thou.

Bonjour Nice video. Just a point about usb C Hub. Be aware that if they are powered by the Mac USB C they will take power on the battery ( if superior to wall power delivery) and use cycles. So you're solution is great because a mac should always have the minimal accessories pluggued in or they should be self powered with a hub with surge protection. 2 in 1 Cases are a must have. I use a mx keys which is multi device so my Ipad have a keyboard in one button switch.

I'm really considering the BenQ light but worried that it might look small and out of place on a 32"in monitor - Does anyone have the light on a larger monitor?

I think it will look fine on the 32 - I’ve seen others with it on KZfaq and works fine - but would be your call - maybe just purchase via the Amazon link and you can easily return if not right?

can someone explain a usb hub to me. you plug 4 items into the hub and plug the hub to a usb port. so you have 4 devices on one usb line? that can't be good right?

Keep those FD lenses in an enclosed case with dessicant, you don't want fungus growing on the glass elements!

The folio cases do not cover the apple pencil, so that pencil usually falls off at some point of its time in my bag. Do you have a solution/suggestion for that?

The pencil attaches to mine fine with the Pitaka plastic Magz cover. Tbh - it will do if you put an iPad in bag anyways - I keep mine in a felt sleeve and pop the pencil inside the sleeve. :)

CalDigit’s Thunderbolt 3+ or 4 would be a far better option for what you wanted, though granted they aren’t cheap! Like the mat but shame it’s not a non-animal one like Grovemade do (most of my setup is Grovemade - only downside is the hefty import charges!). Lovely vid as always! Beautiful tech, beautiful man, beautiful cat!! 😉

When I see such setups and room setups I always wonder, who are those angels who never have any dust in their room. The first thing I would think of is probably some cover from the dust, when I am not sitting. Otherwise those nice camera lenses on the shelf will be covered with some thick layer of dust.

Let’s be straight up here: Orbitkey stuff is definitely premium accessories world - you pay big ish money for the gear: but if you have the semi-disposable income to pay for it - I’m very lucky to trial the items for free - but I do think it’s some of the best out there. I’d say Pitaka ipad stuff is is great quality and a steal compared to apple’s prices for similar.

My office has multiple of those desk mats and they fucking SUCK the top layer constantly lifts up off the bottom layer and you have to physically push your mouse down to get it to work correctly. 6 of them and every single one does it. even months later.

the benq halo lightbar is stupidly expensive, i'm not a fan of huawei or xiaomi or any other chinese brand, but xiaomi lightbar is a much better and cheaper alternative

Now that i know about them , i still don't want them , there are much cheaper better options , i am not crazy to pay more than 100$ for a desk mat and i don't really care it has a place to store documents , same goes for the box more than 100$ for a small storing box ? crazy

Fair enough. Not for all - I would need to be richer to afford these if not sent to me I think - but the ‘small box’ is actually more useful than that since it’s also a wireless desk charger. But yep - $100 is definitely premium! :)
