OPEN: 11AM-11PM
🍣Uogashi Nihon Ichi opened 30 years ago and today boasts more than 20 locations around Tokyo. They are consistently voted best sushi in town by locals, in large part because of their ability to always find the best, freshest seasonal ingredients. We sampled six different foods, including: buritoro (Japanese amberjack), ankimo (goosefish liver), mushikaki (steamed oyster), honmagurozuke (pickle tuna), kue (longtooth grouper) and sumakatsuo (skipjack tuna).
💸PRICE: From 0.68 - 2.73 USD/75 JPY to 300 JPY | Average: 1.82USD/200 JPY per person
----
2. KATSURYOKUUOKIN: Sake + Tempura + Sashimi
ADDRESS: 3-18-5 Shinbashi Minato Tokyo
OPEN: 5PM-11:30PM Mon - Fri | 4:30PM - 11:30PM Sat | CLOSED Sun & public holidays
🍶Katsuryokuuokin is known for their daily menu, which changes based on the fresh seasonal ingredients they get each day from Toyosu Market, the largest wet market in Japan. In addition to their variety of dishes, they offer a wide variety of sake, sourced from different regions of Japan. A few top dishes to try include: Shirako tempura (soft fried roe) and Aonoritohu (tofu seaweed soup)
💸PRICE: Sake + Tempura + Sushi meal: 27.33 - 36.44 USD/3,000 - 4,000 JPY per person

ADDRESS: 2-18-4 Shinbashi Minato-ku, Tokyo Isobe Building B1F
OPEN: Tue - Sat: 5PM - 4AM | Mon - Sun: 5PM - 11PM
🇯🇵Sakesimizu became a popular establishment in Japan thanks to their raw fresh horse meat. It’s customary to enjoy sake when eating this delicacy.
💸PRICE: Basashi (horse meat): 18 USD/1,980 JPY | Mojutsu (grilled pork giblet on a stick): 4.11 USD/450 JPY each | Original chicken skewer and pork intestine: 6.21 USD/680 JPY per skewer

🥒ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. People either enjoyed my undeniable charm or enjoyed watching me eat things like coconut worms, and thus Best Ever Food Review Show came to be.
I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer. If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.
Don’t forget to subscribe to Best Ever Food Review Show, so we can connect through food and travel and become Bestys!

For people who don't know the meaning of salaryman, according to Wikipedia definition, a salaryman (サラリーマン, Sararīman) is a salaried worker and, more specifically, a Japanese white-collar worker who shows overriding loyalty to the corporation where he works.

@@nickkisling7294 no. A sheep is a consumer that supports a brand immensly and without looking at the competition (like for example many apple users.). A salary man is a japanese guy, that works at a company and is loyal to that company. Many japanese people leave their homes early in the morning (like 5 am), travel atleast 2 hours to work, work for 14hours, then eat/drink near their work and after that they travel 2h home again and just sleep instantly. This is repeate every day of the year. Basically no free time or hobbies but instead "living for the company" (and some food and a lot of sake.).

By all means go, the food is incredible but there is so much different stuff that even after spending ~2months I never ate the same thing twice except Fugu, beef bowl and Sukiyaki because they are incredible. But consider this, every meal I ate like 6-8 different things most of the time, and I can't wait to go back to eat more stuff I have yet to try :). Musts are definitely Ramen (Tonkotsu at least), Sukiyaki, Beef bowl (Yoshinoya), Sashimi, Sushi (you won't like the one elsewhere after), Wagyu beef, Unagi, and if you dare (and have the $$ for it) Fugu. Food is also much cheaper than many think, it's not like thailand or vietnam cheap of course, but cheaper than europe for sure. The only things I mentioned that are pricey are Sukiyaki and Fugu but they aren't super expensive either, if you go to a really nice place and bring a friend you both eat for ~150-170$ including drinks.

Lived i Japan 3.5 years. I wish I traveled and tried more of the culture. I LOVED living there but my young age, party lifestyle mixed with social anxiety made me stay around familiar "safe" places like the Honch and my apartment. I rarely left the Yokosuka, Shibuya area and I missed out on so much 😭 if I could go back right now I definitely would...in a heartbeat
