The black box of the side of the nose is the Ekyrail Ekycool heating and air conditioning system. Easy to change out and easy to test on 110V shore power in the shop, but not as effective at heating and cooling the inside of the cab as some of the other after market heating and cooling systems applied to older units. The local you caught at Farhnam street was an M PEIGAL with traffic from the TZPR in Peoria. They don't spot Gates or Progress Rail, which is what the yard job with 1725 would have been doing. 1725 is one of the trimmer units. Probably the 104 yard job coming back from spotting Gates Rubber or Progress Raul's scrap yard. Great video as always, always enjoy seeing what you post!

The passenger cars at 3:27 ish appear to be former Amtrak Amfleet cars without Amtrak markings. My sincere hope, as they are evidently looking to start retiring Amfleet coaches, is that these were going to be preserved at some museum.

Illinois certainly makes Full use of their train system. Amtrak, Metra, CTA and L systems that move a huge number of passengers around Chicago. Thanks! 👍

We call the cabs on the BC unit "Canadian Cabs". Not very common anymore on CN

The locomotive with the green BNSF lettering that you pointed out at 7:19 would’ve more than likely be BNSF 1718, 2115, or 2364. Those are the only 3 locomotives that I know that have green lettering.

probably the best railfanning day for someone ive ever seen, galesburg is a new location i wanna maybe visit someday. quite rare to railfan and see 2 passenger cars on a local, a 25th anniversary unit and a H1 pulling a coal train, BCOL 4644 with a UPY GP15-1, lots of other rare BNSF paint, and BN 54. having seen BCOL 4644 myself, i think it's way more rare to see it down in Illinois on BNSF rails. oh, and not to mention the bluebonnets too.

I was in Galveston while on a road trip and I saw a couple of bnsf warbonnets and I think I saw bnsf 555

BN 54 was either BN 6293 or BN 6294 because those were the only 2 Tebuc6 engines that still had the DB on them

6:27 I saw a bnsf and it looks like the same one I saw about a few months ago but it had a different number on the bnsf train and the one behind the bnsf logo train and I saw the same one but with a different locomotive. Nice train catch

Burlington Northern & Santa Fe merged together which was how BNSF was made.

A 6 axle switcher engine wow I thought they were only 4 axle ones.

CN/BCOL 4644 is a rare C44-9WL or Dash-9-44CWL. These unique locomotives, along with SD40-2Ws, GP38-2Ws, GP40-2Ws, and C40-8Ms (Dash-8 40CM) all have a specially designed "Canadian Cab" and were made by GE. These were only delivered to BC Rail and CN in limited numbers, so it is quite rare to see them!
