I was worried it would be orange now 😂 So happy to see its still in working operation & in BN green. Now send it back my way, I need to get some more shots of that!

Glad to see that line of good power you caught! Really is surprising they still have that old GP9 sitting around. Not to mention that plow machine that’s almost 73! BNSF has at least 2 more of those things that likely have interesting history.

You must have been up right around labor day, with that 1458 sitting on the material shop lead. BNSF has quite a few Tier 4 EVO's - all the 36, 37, 38, and 3900's are Tier 4's. The blue GECX units were the original demo/test units that the were used to demo the Tier 4's, the better part of a decade ago now. Those GECX Tier 4's are now used by the CN.

It hurts seeing the BN SD60M in Galesburg. Not too long ago, 1458 was based in Northtown yard up here in Minneapolis. I caught it leading multiple times. When it was sent off to Galesburg I was pretty sad.

I saw my first BNSF Cascade Green in Abilene, Kansas and the number was 1446 and it was a SD 60 M and the lead engine was a - 8 number of 532 and two SD 40-2s

3934 in the power move you caught is a T4 GEVO. They were released in 2015 i believe so im surprised the demonstrator is not patched or back at its home.

BNSF has a few hundred Tier 4’s. If you go to the Transcon, you can probably catch a few. I’m almost certain that the GECX unit was there because CN has been using those and the Citirail ES44’s that BNSF used to use.

Nice catch with the 1458. I wonder what those little stickers on the front, on either side of the logo are. I don't remember those being on the unit when it was up in MN for a while.

524 would still be used in regular light service but the engine has been condemned, they are going to scrap is rather than repair it
