We all love a good blooper reel, but sometimes the happenings on TV and movie sets go beyond the amusing and become downright bizarre. In fact, some of the things that have occurred on set have led to urban legends about movie productions being cursed, especially if the film in question is a horror movie. Of course, a good urban legend can bring a lot of free press to your film, so some moviemakers will gladly lean into the narrative, and some movies have been so “cursed” that there have been documentaries made about them. Take a look at some bizarre things that happened on TV and movie sets.

I don't think any are "bizarre" as much as they are tragic.Sometimes safety is sacrificed for the perfect shot and other times it's simply bad luck.

Margaret Hamilton also suffered emotionally later...from seeing how much she scared kids. Hearing about this, Fred Rogers had her on his show in costume as "Margaret H. Witch" who was good...and provided an excellent chance to talk(through puppets like Daniel Tiger) to his young viewers about not judging people by appearances.

Carol wasnt the last Munchkin that survived. That honor would go to JERRY MARIN (January 24, 1920 - May 24, 2018)After the Death of Ruth Duccini in 2014, He became the last Cast member with a Speaking Role. Jerry was one of the 3 members of the Lollipop Guild.

I'm most impressed with the bee (and its trainer!) from the X files that did the scene 12 times! I'm just wondering what caused the scene to be re shot 12 times! You know that bee was like "C'mon people I'm using pheromones here! You can't handle simple reading? Slackers!" 🤣

1.50... I had a similar incident when working on Penny Dreadful, we were late on set one night so I left my make up on. My usual hotel didn't recognize me as I looked like death having been a vampire familiar. 😂 Fun times

About the cast member on Walking Dead who was pulled over on her way home covered in zombie blood and Gore. I would think there was at least a shower where they could wash after a day of killing zombies.

@@debbieworthington6151 Yeah I am Gen X. As a child, I used watch it like once a year when it came on. Back then you had to wait for things to come on television. You couldn't just watch stuff whenever you felt like it which made it a little more exciting.

I saw "The Wizard of Oz" when I was a child, and for months after I was afraid to fall asleep because I though the Wicked Witch was going to come into my room and hurt me. Not a movie for children.

The Wizard of Oz 1939 was a remake as the first was a silent 1928 movie. They didn't mention that? Also with the matrix actors, along with their required reading, I wonder if they were required to watch one of the earliest movies involving simulation, the 1973 German sci-fi film, World On A Wire?

Brandon Lee was unalived by an actual bullet. When the bullet, “lead” is REMOVED it called a “blank casing” or “shell”. Assuming a “live round” is in a gun that means it’s “hot” and should have been checked religiously.

X-Files, smoking man was allowed to smoke herbal cigarettes, but they tasted awful. Back in the mid 70s, someone had the bright idea to make and sell lettuce cigarettes. Being young and dumb I bought a pack. After first lighting one, I gaged and stomped on it. It's been decades since that day and I honestly can't say which was worse, the smell or the taste. Either was just as upsetting to my stomach and my schnoz.

I doubt that what your hearing on this video as the truth, when the producers where interviewed they said they sent notices out everywhere in the us for little people casting calls, at that time 1939 in America there where a few little people that answered the call only two of them went on to become famous actors after and every year all the little people who played in the movie would meet in Washington state for a yearly reunion but now all of them are gone

I recently saw it pointed out that the poster in Carol Annes bedroom in "Poltergeist" was for Super Bowl XXII and it gave the proper date: 1988. Inexplicable, bc the film was shot in 1982. Fast forward six years until the REAL Super Bowl XXII, which was held Jan. 31st, 1988 in San Diego. On that date, a few miles away from the stadium, the 12 year old actor who played Carol Anne collapsed and was rushed to the hospital (also a few miles from the stadium) where she died just hours after the game was finished.

@@robynholliday1150 I read into it a little bit. As the producer, decisions over what props to use falls on him. But his legal claim is that he is supposed to be free of liability because it is in his contract. If that works out, Alec Baldwin literally will get away with murder.

Seems that working on a movie can be, or is very dangerous profession. How are these production companies aloud to get away with it? A profession with such a relatively small work crew it looks to me that the amount of money involved is how they get away with it and f" the victims ?

I can't believe that when discussing The Wizard of Oz you didn't include the most insane part of the release of that film: a man hung himself on set during filming. That was the biggest controversy of all! In the scene where Dorothy and the gang are walking through the forest singing, a worker actually hung himself to death in the background. The studio didn't realize that it made it into the movie. The film came out on VHS and some viewers noticed immediately. The VHS was recalled and that gruesome mistake was fixed before a new VHS version was released. 25 years ago, my roommate in college had the original VHS copy and showed me this scene. It was clear as day: the viewers could clearly see the poor worker committing suicide by hanging himself off the branch of one of the background trees on set during filming.

@Marti Bowersox I was coming to comment that exact thing! It was a very convincing and entertaining rumor for awhile though, there are quite a few movies with similar goofy rumors like this. I was amazed how many exist like it. Great imaginations. Like the sex sentences said in Disney's Aladdin. Though it was proven that editors slipped in porno magazine drawings and nakedness throughout a scene in Disney Aristocats. It's a whole approximately 6 seconds but was about 10 or so different clips. There was a video on this exact subject I watched but can't for the lives of me remember by who.

So the question one may wonder is the spiritual cost to one's own soul and spirit for having lived and died to the lowest standards of quality for so many years now global pollution has diminished the quality of life to the point where today's people are living, dying and yielding the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested since the beginning of life only getting worse. The polar opposite extreme to that is today's people should be living and dying to the highest standards of quality which would make each and every moment physically, mentally, financially and spiritually beneficial.
