My husband had a moving job years ago, he went to Steven Tyler's house in Massachusetts. Tyler wasn't there it was his wife's twin moving in. They didn't tip a penny. I met the road crew for the Kinks before a show in Barnsley, Yorkshire England. They put me in the front row. When they took a break I was going to get a beer. Ray Davies yelled where are you going? I said "to get a beer" he said wait! I did, he came back with a Heineken told security to let me pass the barrier and I was given a seat at the stage. I sang every word! After the show the roadies came to me and asked where we should go after the show. I said I'd take them to the best night club. I assumed the band would come. When we got there I asked if Ray & Dave would be there. They fell out laughing. The answer was NO ,Ray is too cheap and Dave was too broke. They couldn't BELIEVE Ray had given me one of his beers. They said when he brings his wife out he ordered one Heineken and two glasses! I was flying home to USA the next morning. I spent the night (early AM really) on the roadies bus. When the 1st guy I met realized I needed to get to London asap I panicked, he flagged a taxi and said to the driver " she has no idea the address of her friends she's staying with"! The taxi man took one look at me & said "oh that's Heidi the Yankee, pour her in the back seat, she stays with the Mc Veys in Pogmoore, she missed her flight yesterday"! True I had. Made the flight and was passed out the whole flight 10 years later I saw Ray solo in Boston. Had a friend in security. I'd kept this ticket and brought it. Send a note and asked for an autograph. He refused to sign it and I tossed it in the trash. Ahole

I’ve got an Elvis story, and it’s so enjoyable for me to tell, so humor me? When my grandmother and Elvis were teens, they worked next to each other. She was always super mean to him because he was always super nice, regardless of how he was treated. Years go by and he becomes famous, and my grandmother is obsessed with him. She ran into their old coworker one day and learned that the coworker was still friends with Elvis, so my grandmother begged her for his phone number. The coworker just said “No. you were mean to him.” And walked off. My grandmother told me that story often, because it really plagued her. I tell this story every chance i get because it gives me joy. My grandmother was mean to me, too, because I’m nice. I was a deformed, overweight, gay, autistic girl with glasses who was nice no matter what because i just wanted to be accepted. So yeah, i like this story.
