If you recall, at the end of the movie after hes eaten by the sand worm, he shows up at the reception room for the dead.. so perhaps, he loses his powers after eaten by the sandworm and had to learn to be powerful all over again?

oh the puns! Beetlejuice likes to break the forth wall sometimes and often hints to the audience that he know's he's a television character! Like in the pilot he presses his face against the glass like he was in the tv and in "the Really Odd Couple" he bangs on the glass trying to get out.

Always thought the Sandworms in the series were cute and I really like the baby sandworm in this same episode. The episode left the Baby Sandworm friendly so there could have been so much potential to use it more but the series brought Doomie instead who is adorable but they could broght the baby sandworm back.

Design was cool, animation was more than decent for a 1989 tv cartoon, and the music score kicked ass, never been able to get my hands on the tv series music score appart from the opening theme.

And so did you. It's either "Betelgeuse" or "Beetlejuice". Both the title of the movie and the cartoon spell it "Beetlejuice", although in the movie, on his grave and TV or whatever, it's spelled "Betelgeuse".
