CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Lydia (Winona Ryder) summons Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) so he can help her rescue Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Thanks to the carelessness of a cute little dog, newlyweds Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin are killed in a freak auto accident. Upon arriving in the outer offices of Heaven, the couple finds that, thanks to a century's worth of bureaucratic red tape, they're on a long celestial waiting list. Before they can earn their wings, Davis and Baldwin must occupy their old house as ghosts for the next fifty years. Alas, the house is now owned by insufferable yuppies Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones. Horrified at the prospect of sharing space with these obnoxious interlopers, Davis and Baldwin do their best to scare O'Hara and Jones away, but their house-haunting skills are pathetic at best. In desperation, the ghostly couple engage the services of a veteran scaremeister: a yellow-haired, snaggle-toothed, profane, flatulent "gonzo" spirit named Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton). The problem: Beetlejuice cannot be trusted-especially when he falls in love with O'Hara and Jones' gloomy, black-clad teenaged daughter Winona Ryder. Beetlejuice producer David Geffen, director Tim Burton, and composer Danny Elfman were also involved in an animated TV-series spin-off.

The fact that “it’s showtime” was like his main catchphrase in the cartoon but he only says it once in this film shows you how brilliant that catchphrase is. It is only said one time and he said at the exact perfect moment. That is it became so memorable that it became his number one catchphrase.

I love how he's in that suit for only three minutes in the entire movie, and utters that line only once, and yet both have become inseparably iconic aspects of the character.

I like how Beetlejuice was turned into a sort of hero for a brief time. You knew when he said “it’s showtime”, everyone was about to find out how powerful he was.

After he says "It's Showtime" I love how you hear the energy in the house start to rev up..Even Adam and Barbara on the table feel the force of Beetlejuice coming to play...

Michael Keaton deserved at least an Oscar nomination for this iconic role. He is such an versatile gifted actor.

the funniest shit is how quickly beetlejuice solved the problem. just did a few tricks, goes "well, everythings back to normal i think..." and jumped right into the wedding

Michael Keaton has played zany comedic villains - Beetlejuice, Superheroes - Batman, and psycho-killers - Pacific Heights, to name a few. And he has done spectacular jobs at all of them.
