Black 5 5025's Presentation at The Strathspey Railway, Aviemore on 27th July 2021.

The conclusion of 10 years restoration of Stanier "5-MT" Class Black 5 5025 results in a presentation to the public and press with runs in the yard, pulling the first passenger coach (LMS Officers Saloon) for 28 years, on the 27th July 2021.
She was built in 1934 by The Vulcan Foundry Ltd, Newton-Le-Willows, Lancashire.
She will begin her return to traffic on the 7th August 2021 between Aviemore and Broomhill.

My son is special needs and he and I both really like British 🇬🇧 steam locomotives 🚂 like that one. He says that 5025 sure knows how to make a grand entrance!

Lined black is probably the best livery for a steam locomotive. And the high gloss on this one reflects the green of the hills and the blue of the sky, depending on angle!

5025 was aching to pull trains again but her driver said "wait till tomorrow, I'm sure you'll be able to pull trains again" 5025 had to wait till 7th August

On the morning of, she arrived at Aviemore station, where a 7 coach train was waiting for her. 5025 shunted them into place and patiently but excitedly moved to the front, where her driver coupled her to the coaches.
