Destroying entire buildings but getting upset when a family is about to be lazered? He killed many himself with his violence. A good example of a conscientious hero is Goku, from dragonball z, who often starts fighting in a city but asks (or lures) an opponent into the wilderness before continuing the fight, knowing it will reduce casualties. (Though sometimes still forced to fight someone in a current location.) Another is spiderman, who remains on the lookout to save or rescue civilians when he's fighting in the middle of the city.
