It's good for symmetry yeah. But looks slightly weird when you're copying eyes too. and also, nobody is perfectly symmetrical, keep that in mind.

you just made it symmetrical by replicating the right side to the left side with the magic wand, may i know how? i love your work by the way.

it just auto selects area with darker values that are connected, and just edit transform flip horizontal. dont recommend doing it though, doesnt train you, he does this because it is speedpaint and he's got techniques already.
