My friends who had no pets found a tiny black kitten crying under the hood of a car. It was pouring rain. They took him home and named him Squeek! I think he's 17 years old now.

I have a black cat. We found her as a kitten dumped on our house's porch, so she started off really scared, unfriendly and so dirty. But now she responds and comes over when we call her, and now is a fabulous mommy! Her name is Ellie and she's our treasure.

I've had two black cats, one we got as a kitten after someone tried to drown his litter and he and his brother survived and were taken to a shelter (he was my first cat, and he lived to 15) and then we rehomed Ren, who was 11 with kidney problems, to save him from spending his final days in a shelter. I ❤️ black cats. I don't understand the superstitions at all! And this guy...he's living the dream 🥰😂

Once a few friends came over to my house. I told them I have cats. They said "I like cats as long as they aren't black". And then my black cat Storm walks in the room. They jumped back. 😹 I laughed so hard because he's the best cat. So loyal and just chill. I also remember a superstition that if a black cat crosses your path you must draw an X on the windshield to keep bad luck away. Weird!!

Black cats are *special*. I could lose myself admiring their beauty, their yellow/amber eyes, the velvety fur... it's magical. Currently, I have a black cat called Nana (as in, seven in Japanese as it's a lucky number) who is just *precious* and quiet.

I do volunteer work at our local shelter and they got this really loving black cat there who adores getting cuddles. Unfortunately I am not in the position to have pets right now or else I'd have taken her home with me instantly. I hope she gets a good home where she'll get all the love she deserves.

I have a black cat named Fry. I got him from a feral colony when he was 4 months old and had came up to me for the food I was eating. He was very sweet since day one and he is such a big part of my life a year later! He was this tiny little thing and is now a 22lb housecat! I have a brother and sister I got from that same colony 3 years ago who had lost their mother and siblings at 5 weeks old. Again Pixel was this tiny little thing we weighed under a pound and now he's 20lbs!!! His sister had been double his size when I got them and now she is the smallest of the group at 16lbs. They are all healthy skinny fixed housecats. Very spoiled big babies. ❤️

When I started university, I also adopted two black cats. They were brother and sister and they were such good friends to me and to each other. They brought so much joy!

All cats are precious, all shapes, sizes, colours and abilities. If i get approved, i will go the the shelter to pick one of the overlooked cats, the one who piqued my interest, is a little one eyed patch of void.

I loved this video! My first cat was a black cat and when we lost her I had to get another one because my home just felt empty without a little void kitty laying on the couch… I named him Binx after Hocus Pocus 🖤 they’ve both been so funny and sassy and I love my little boy so much!!

I've always loved black cats and the number 13 and saw it as lucky not unlucky. They remind me of small black panthers that I've loved since seeing them in the zoo when I was only 8

I’ve had 6 black cats - all rescued. The original 2 have since passed (13 years old and 15 years old respectively at the time of their passing). The current 4 are between 12 years old and 1 year old. Two were adopted from the humane society and the rest were rescued from the streets. We do have a rescued orange tabby, as well. My mom rescued a black cat in her neighborhood, as well as a tuxedo. There are never a shortage of cats to rescue, but black cats are most plentiful.

Love, love, love black cats! Adopted an older shelter cat who was black & a Manx & who had preexisting health issues & then developed many other issues. He was soo patient with all the treatments & things he went through. Super friendly with everyone and just the most laid back, happy cat I've ever had. Man, I miss that boy

I've had two black cats over the years. Both of my black beauties were and are the smartest cats ever. It has been as though they could read minds and just know the what, were, when, and why of everything. Mind boggling. Black cats have a super power...invisibility. They know just when to use it, too. I love ❤ cats.

The black cats I have had are very smart, perhaps because they had to be to survive through the ages. So beautiful and yes, a touch of mystery. Panfurs are my favorite ❤

My parents have owned black cats. My dad seems to be particularly fond of them, for he always has owned one at his house whenever he could. Black cats are attracted to my family. They just end up needing a home and getting connected to our family. When we got our black cat we were at the shelter to adopt 2 sisters who were black and white, I peaked in on their brothers who were black and 1 of them bopped me. We adopted the boy that purred first and the more adventurous girl.

I adore black cats. It’s sad that there are still people out there who don’t like them for no good reason. I love black cats even more so since adopting my black cat Salem. In school once I had to read “The Great Cat Massacre” which is a recounting of an event in 1730 France…Im sure you can guess what the story was recounting 😦. It was so brutal. We read it and discussed how local customs and beliefs can cause some people to find certain kinds of violence acceptable. *sigh* It was a rough day.

I had a black cat when I was a little kid named Mojo, he lived to be 17 and he was lovely. He was a skinny old crotchety man by the time he passed when I was 5, but he was a sweetie. My best friend has the sweetest baby panther named Nala, her name was my idea, and she’s a snuggly sweet angel 🥰
