Yes they really do make those sounds. Not just the pastor but all the deacons too. 😂😂. Some people go to church just for the choir. If the church has a great choir they can put butts in the seats. Give you tingles all over.

When My mom was stationed in California I went to Catholic school; quick message, a little workout, sing a little ditty I skipped confession, (I don't snitch, especially on myself) go back to class. Black church was longer, choir performance, prayer, testifying, announcements, altar call.. yup it's long. But SOUTHERN BLACK CHURCH!!! I spent summers with my (paternal) Gramma who lived in a town so small that the Sherriff also played guitar on the choir (I kid you not). So there was Sunday School, then church (long service) then we go eat. Then back to church for the evening service. And don't let it be revival week. So. Much. Church. I'll speed past a church now, and I'm a regular member of Bedside Baptist.

As a black guy, I prefer a white church ⛪️ too, to a degree. I want to be in and out of there, black churchs do take long, I can pray at home to.

The 'Ha' was very prevalent during the 1960s, through to the recent present. The first Preacher I heard of using that exclamation of rejoicing and exaltation was Reverend Ike. The last was the Late Marcus Lamb. It depends on their choice of using it. Most leave it alone due to the now seen comic nature of comedians using it. Church service, is mostly seen as the time to Rejoice, In The Love of The Lord with fellow members. To rejuvenate in The Holy Spirit, so you can be effective for the week ahead. And to Increase in Knowledge to Combat the Evils in this world. With That in Mind, It takes as long as it takes. Praise God.

Its been a few years since I attended church (Im Black), It depends on the church but can vary between 2-3 hrs. As a kid it felt like a workshift. 😁 Most recently, it was entertaining and pretty uplifting. The music depends on the church.

I am not a fan of long services. I was raised by a Catholic and a Methodist. Once the service reaches an hour I am looking for the door.

You'd forget you're there for 10 hours😂😂

i grew up going to catholic church in the morning and then "black church" in the afternoon. if the pastor doesn't "hah", the sermon ain't worth whatcha put in the collection plate.

I don’t miss black church not AT ALL! 😂😂😂 that’s 17 Sunday years I can’t get back. It’s wayyy too long and everyone is on the floor so it’s became funny then concerning real quick. And only some black churches have AC 😂

Black churches aim for a relationship, not religion.
