10:33 Yeah, I see how that’s confusing to the average anime viewer. In the manga, the dragon roar went straight through his arm rather than send him flying like it did here. I imagine the animation team wanted to stretch out the episode a bit and added in those extra bits.

Its not really that old magic is stronger. Its just the amount of mana they have is much higher so they can push their limits way higher. "Blessed By Magic" In Vettos case he has Beast Magic and he enhances his body with diff beast powers. So if a beast can regrow a limb, he could use their power to. Hes just brokenly OP. When he opened his Third Eye his magic changed to "Mythic" Beast Magic, so it is enhancing his magic more. Its just showing that there is still a lot to how magic works that we dont know that these ancient people did.

just gonna add "mythic" is a mistranslation it actually translates to "demon beast magic"
