This is a great video for this saw. I have this saw and use it for Tree of Heaven (invasive plant) removal work. It is fine, as you say, for smaller 6-8 inch, branches but it does not have enough power for larger diameter trunks. I have found it is very effective for making the cuts in the trunks to spray herbicide needed to kill Tree of Heaven. It is much easier than using a hatchet. I can get into the center of a multi-trunk tree to make a cuts for the herbicide and I can't make a deep enough cut with other tools. I'm a female and I carry this saw a mile or so out to where I am working and it is light enough to not be a burden. It also is quiet and I work in park lands so that is nice that the sound of a chain saw is not broadcast throughout the forest disturbing park users. I learned things about my saw from your video. You have a very nice presentation style and are very thorough in your explanations. Thank you.

Having cut a lot of firewood with a gas powered chainsaw, I would say there is no comparison. Power-wise a gasoline chainsaw is far superior. You will sharpen or change out the chain more frequently with gas to keep it cutting efficiently. The advantage of a battery powered chainsaw is noise and winterizing. You don’t have to worry about the gas going bad

Cool. I have the 40v weed whacker, deck blower and hedge trimmer. Had them for a couple of years and was wondering if the chainsaw was any good. Seems pretty decent for the mostly light duty work in my 7000 sq/ft garden. Especially when you can buy it without a battery and I have two batteries interchangeable with those over tools already. Cheers!

I totally agree with light duty usage. I think it would be fantastic for hunting and camping to quietly clear trails and cut enough wood for your campsite.

@@houseonthemend I think this type of chainsaw is very good for people who only use it for home use. It cuts all types of woods and is decent in size. This chainsaw does a good job in terms of cutting branches or logs that are up to 8" in diameter. It'll take more time to cut anything bigger than that. If you are looking for a chainsaw that cuts wider than 8" I would suggest a bigger chainsaw. Sadly, Black + Decker currently doesn't sell any battery operated chainsaws longer than 12". I guess we'll have to wait unless you want to buy a gas or electrical cord chainsaw.

Ok. Milwaukee is top of the line with durability and battery platform (also very pricey). Personally I would watch some Ryobi 40 volt chainsaw review videos and see if they can hang with log cutting. Ryobi makes great, affordable DIY level tools and their 40 volt battery platform has a huge outdoor tool lineup.

🤔 These saws seem best suited for small pieces of campfire wood of 6” diameter or less. I certainly would not use the chains that come with them. The chain that came with my Kobalt saw was pure garbage.
