So they forgot a step- when you click the power on button, “clean” will scroll across. Hold the power button down for a few seconds. The clean will continue to scroll across while it cleans and even automatically stops partway through for the 30 minutes, then restarts on its own. After that, the “clean” warning goes away

Can someone explain what is the point of putting a filter there if there’s no coffee in the filter basket?

It's likely that cleaning will loosen some mineral build up. Using a filter will catch all those particles and keep them from flowing into your carafe or staying in the filter basket. I think it basically just makes clean up easier.

Mine will not drain through the cup part where you put the filter in. I ran white vinegar and water through it which worked in the past and did not work this time . Try to clean and used a shop vac to pull out possible debris , changed the filter and nothing worked.

@@BlackDeckerAppliances Thank you very much for your response and concern , but I fixed it by running water through the cup filter holder was clogged up not the machine . First I ran white vinegar through it and that did not work .and then I just ran tap water through it and the cup that holds the filter and gradually became unclogged. Every time from now on I am going to clean and run water through it. Thank you.

Also having the same annoying problem as many others! I have just manually followed these steps and the work CLEAN continues to flash. I've tried holding down the button and restarting the machine, but it still won't work. In the past, the machine would do the cleaning process on its own when I held down on the clean button, but now it doesn't. Super confusing!! I feel like this machine was not well-made.

I tried these instructions exactly and the Clean message did not go away. My coffee maker does not have a clean function. Do I need to repeat?

We have the same issue. Our model is as shown here. The CLEAN message will not go away even though I have run the vinegar-water cleaning with the 30 minute wait after half has run through twice now. What is the trick to clearing the CLEAN message? (It brews just fine.)

When the coffee maker is off. Press and hold the on button until the clean message comes up. Then release.

My coffee maker has CLEAN across the clock. It won't run a cleaning cycle because of this. How do I force it to clean?

This is confusing. My instructions say use the clean function. This video says nothing about that.
