Hello, A few months ago our coffee pot took a dump on us. So, the wife drags me to Good Will. And this is the coffee pot we got. Thanks for the video it really helped. Have not used it yet. I saw the clean label flash on a time or two. So, I got some vinegar and water and letting it do it's thing. Another half hour and I can start washing it with dish soap. I filled it up with water and let it brew several times to wash anything out. And see if it was going to work. So far so good. Thanks again for the video.

I have this machine specifically because I break the glass ones so often...after having like 9 broken ones, I thought why not try the stainless kind. Well it was great. BUT I have somewhat harder water and get white scale stuff. I have tried in vane to do the cleaning. I followed the manual, and your video, it starts the clean but only brews about 1/2 cup then turns off, and never comes back on...unless I manually start it again. I even went and bought some of the 10 dollar cleaning stuff so called "citric acid" which is suppose to be superior to vinegar, and I will say, yes it really cleaned out some junk...but still won't complete a cleaning cycle and my normal mode brewing is so slow...like 45 minutes to brew a pot. Grr...they should have made the element removeable...for this very reason, otherwise this is a great design.

I have a different model of B&D thermal carafe coffee maker and the instructions are different (I lazily checked KZfaq before looking for the instruction manual). Mine has the control panel above the pot, not to the side, and when I did find the actual instruction manual, on my model it is the "Auto" button one needs to press for several seconds to initiate the auto clean cycle. :)

How do you force it to descale? I’ve put way more then 60 pots through it and clean function hasn’t appeared but needs cleaned.

I have done the cleaning twice before. This time the machine brew the water/vinegar as usual, didnt stop and it continued to give “ clean “ message

For some reason, my coffee maker stops descaling automatically and prematurely. I could only regularly brew the entire water and vinegar through, but it won't do that if I hold the button.

This was MOST helpful! Just ONE thing please... What if after cleaning, the 'Clean' light *NEVER EVER* goes off! I cannot for the life of me get the damn light to turn off. Is there some way to reset the damn thing? Thank you for any help!

I followed the directions but my issue is holding the power button. I held it down and left it for 30 mins but the water never went down. It’s so frustrating bec it says clean already when you turn it on so I can’t tell the difference if that makes sense. I wish they provided a clean button!

The instructions clearly say to put a new filter paper in the basket after the vinegar and water is added and in your video you say not to. Please correct that.

This makes me so mad because every time it goes off I desperately need that coffee and now my carafes full of the coffee I need and I forgot it needed cleaned until the next time I needed to make coffee

I've tried this but it didn't work. I bought this coffee maker five months ago. I've called the 1- 800 number but it always gives me a recording saying they are closed. I expected more out of Black & Decker. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
