In this video I'll flip through one of my mixed media art journals and prime two pages with black gesso and watercolor ground on the other to compare the two mediums. I'll test iridescent watercolors, white gouache and acrylic gouache and you will see the final result! This is really fun!
Supplies used:
Paper Blanks Datebook Journal
Golden Black Gesso
Daniel Smith Mars Black Watercolor Ground
Daniel Smith Luminescent Watercolors
Holbein White Gouache
Holbein Blue Acrylic Gouache
Support your local art supply store!
If you are lucky enough to live near an independent art supply store, please consider purchasing your supplies from them. The products I use in my videos should be available and if not, a knowledgable salesperson can guide you to a suitable alternative. Most of the people who work in art supply stores are artists themselves!
If an art supply store is not available in your area, I encourage you to order online from a store which has a physical store.
Supporting your brick and mortar retailer will allow people to experience hands-on art supply exploration and education which cannot be achieved by buying online.
The unique shopping experience of brick and mortar stores can provide opportunities for the next generation to discover their own artists.
I would love to hear from you! Please leave me a comment below and tap the thumbs up if you enjoyed watching this tutorial. Oh, and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already. :-)
Thank you for watching!
